The UGA win over LSU slammed the door on the coots...

I don't see 2 teams on UGA's schedule that can beat them, so even if the coots go 11-1, they will not make the SECCG nor the NCG. This leaves the coots outside looking in at the actual contenders. Maybe NEXT YEAR coots.

causing a 3 way tie. Not sure how the tie-beakers work there, but that is their best bet.

It would go to BCS standings, I think.

In that scenario, a lot would depend on what happens the final week of the season, when they all play out of conference.
It's probably not going to happen, though. Florida would have to win at LSU in addition to beating UGA.

I wouldn't be too hard on SC for not winning a SEC Championship in the 20 years they've been in the league. From 1991 to 2011 the Tigers couldn't do it in a league with so many cupcakes in it (excepting FSU for about 3 or 4 years) that it was jokingly known as the Atlantic Coast Bakery! However, credit to Dabo, his staff, and the team for making the Clemson brand relevant again on the national scene. It's taken a couple of decades, but it does feel good to be back in that rarefied air at the top, doesn't it? Those SEC wins are why the Tigers are sitting pretty at #3. If UGA wins that first game, I'm not sure the polls would even have Clemson in the top ten or fifteen. I'm certain those back-to-back wins over LSU and UGA opened some eyes all over the nation, and as the Dawgs and Cajun Tigers continue to improve, it gives gravitas to the real Tigers' quest for a place at the head table.

Yeah, but if the ACC was founded in 1953-54, then it only took them 15 years to win a title. I just think the Tigers' dry spell from 1991-2011 was inexcusable, and marks the low point in Clemson football. In referring to the ACC as a "bakery", that was very common among football fans throughout the Midwest in the mid/late 1990's through the first decade of this century.

I think you could safely change "unlikely" to "definitely" at this point!

I used the word "if" they go 11-1, but I'm not picking them to beat this team. They have not earned that from what I've seen. Their victories are hollow IMO. Beating UNC? Big deal when ECU can do it. Barely clinging to a 3-point win over UCF? Not impressive to me. Beating Vandy? Vandy lost to the team that lost 25-0 last week. Not impressive.
Unless USUC gets really good really fast, they could suffer their 2nd loss at Arky in 2 weeks, and maybe the 3rd after UT & Mizzou games.
I just think it's funny that their entire season's hopes and dreams and goals are pummeled after only 4 weeks into the season. That's gotta hurt.
