Friday night, did a lot of nothing except listen to a squirrel frantically chew around at stuff instead of getting into his nice new home the man left for him.

Saturday, still a lot of desperate chewing but whatever attractant they had in that trap wasn't enough to get him in that blasted trap. Also Sharkgirl was getting all sad about the thought of the squirrel dying a slow death so we went and got a live trap to go with this other one. As we were leaving Costco at 6 we get a notification on the security camera saying we got 'em. Now our plan had been to drive this fool a ways away and turn it loose, but ran out of daylight. I don't have a bb gun or a .22 to so we just let it run. I know it may well come back or may well get into a neighbor's attic. We will worry with that later.

Sunday off to the GA aquarium then to meat up with Wilki as he was in town. Good times, even though he tried to convince my no construction experience having self to build my own 3 bay garage to make my dream shop.

Fri - worked late. picked up pizza. in hindsight, should've noticed 2 year old eating less here, but chalked it up to 2 year old. 1 year old on antibiotics for an ear infection as of Thursday.

Sat - woke up. 2 year old was a winey little biatch. like I was bout to take her ### to the fire station and drop off her off

side bar: do they still do that?

went to gymnastics open gym (yikes) where she was great, had fun. came home to eat, hardly ate. ok, whatever, put her down for nap.

she wakes up and is burning up, high temp. hmm, that's weird but makes sense. tylenol and motrin game.

cooked burgers.

Sun - now she's got a rash. hmm, that's not good. pediatrician opens at 11 - 1 Sundays. wife took her in, popped for strep.

while wife and 2 yr old were out, I cleaned out the flower beds. managed to jam TF out of my finger. ain't done that in a hot minute, and good lort that sombich hurts.

cooked a steak, cranked antibiotics, watched A LOT of bluey, had seggs.

made it to the gym dis mawn, got proposal fixed, hoping for a signature by EOD to keep the casa de dawghater afloat during this awesome economic time period we're in.

4 year old grandson visited Friday and spent the night. Saturday as we were playing a video game, him sitting on my lap, he proceeded to projectile you know what all over me, my desk, etc. As four year olds do, he was fine after a good bath and 30 minutes but it struck again a few hours later.

Now waiting for the virus to hit me and Mama G. Stocked up on ginger ale and Powerade. I figure I have another 12 - 24 hours to prep at best, what else do I need in house to get ready for the coming storm?

zero sugar, if like me and that's your thing. also been rocking the liquid IV electrolyte packs.

once your stomach settles in, I ramped back up to protein shakes and some meal replacement stuff I had from Ka'Chaava (which is the bomb btw).

If you don't have that stick to the BRAT - bananas, rice, apples, toast - diet.

I even gave Apple Cider Vinegar a try. That kind of helped...could've been a placebo, idk, b/c it was just awful.

godspeed. the last stomach bug I got was by far the worst illness I've gotten from my rugrats times a million. happened like 2 months ago.

Friday, long and arduous workday and rain led to bourbon, Big Chair, and binging Northern Exposure. I'm almost done with the series and it is as good now as it was 30 years ago.

Saturday, chores, hikes with pup, errands, then off to The Evening Muse in Charlotte to see a great young up-and-coming rock and roll band from Nashville called Ace Monroe. Vibes of early Aerosmith tinged with Southern Rock and maybe even dipping a toe into the early hair metal. Opener was a local band called Aurora's Hope. Not terrible by any stretch but very Seattle grunge-influenced and the guitarist is young and makes that common mistake of letting feedback cover for talent. Not a bad guitarist by any stretch, just not good enough to carry a power trio past local Charlotte stages in my opinion. They are far more suited for The Milestone than The Evenng Muse, but we enjoyed the set.

Sunday, slept in, hiked the pup, made the grocery run, the off to The Thirsty Beaver to see the Truckstop Preachers who NEVER fail to make me laugh. A LOT. Very good band, and frontman Nathan Palmer is an act in and of himself.

Three live bands over one weekend=19/19 Covids. No bonus points because bad basketball and great baseball were a wash

Friday: some porch dranks with some frans, nothing too late.

Saturday: up early (for a Saturday) to head out to Green Pond, SC to defend my dual Games Weekend titles from last year, when I was only the second player in 11 years to win both the shooting and the games comps. Didn't win either this year, unfortunately. Skeet house continues to be my challenge, and I shoot much better in the field. Left the skeet house hitting 13/18, and I think the two leaders were at 18/18 and 17/18. Hit 11/12 from the field to finish in 3rd place out of 9. Meh. Bourbon and guns:

Won one of the 4 bargames comps (bucketball), and also busted my ass on the slick deck that is in the process of being pulled up and replaced--landed with all my weight on my right side, right knee took the brunt of it but also popped my shoulder and head pretty good on the deck. Most of the crowd saw it because watching us play bucketball, and one of the doctors (guy I was playing) was like "dude, did you hit your head? Is your head ok?"--must have been pretty spectacular. Definitely felt it yesterday, and feel it even more today. Will have a pimplimp for the next week, at least.

This Frisbee-bottle game was the new game (every year there's a curveball game besides the standard horseshoes, darts, and bucketball)--pretty fun, will probably procure. Here's a stock photo of it:

The cabin we usually stay in was being renovated, so we went to one of the guy's non-shared cabin a coupla miles away, definitely nicer with non-generator electricity. He built a 48' screened in porch with vaulted ceiling, and that may be the coolest space I'll be in this year. 17' 2-slab dining table, joggling board, and a swinging bed, overlooking a cypress swamp.

Made it home and slept off and on for the next 18 hours, apparently was more tired than I thought.

Let's call it an 8.7/10 since didn't bring home any hardware.

Is that close?

The camera was put up there because I couldn't quite tell if the thing was desperate to get in or out.

The other trap had a chance to do the job, but didn't. I don't think they put in in the best place. Put it perpendicular to the joist, I'd have done parallel. I must know better because my trap worked.

Anything else, you'll have to address to the lady of the house. Also, I'll be putting some sort of feeder out on the far end of our yard to try and trick one of the white squirrels into our area. That will be a Bobby' Builds it rather soon.

of all time.

Let me tell you something about squirrel infestation. To rid them of getting into your house, a few things ALL have to be done:

*Cull local population
*Close entry points. When doing this, make sure the most likely entry point is the last to be closed.

They come inside for warmth at night, so you'll need to close that last entry point mid day.

Squirrels are visual eaters, so bait them with sunflower seeds.

Back to culling the local population....ya need to kill likely 10-20+ squirrels. Use like 5-7 traps, bait daily and KILL the GD squirrels.

What they are doing has become learned behavior. Gotta kill all the ones that have learned it, seal up the crib, then the new ones that come around won't F with you.

Catch and release can work for beta cucks, but ya better release 'em far from home regardless of how sunny or dark it is.

they are my sworn enemy. They have eaten sides off of my house, lived in my attic, and caused undue stress and anger for me over the decades. Only animal I have no heart nor mercy towards.

Already shared the strobe light attic defense. Also, the peanut-butter flavored rat blocks. But not in the attic, these go outside in places out of cat/dog reach (they once infested my workshop). They can't resist them, and wander off and die.

Squirrels are quite smart. One of the BEST squirrel repellants is to simply kill a few of them. I find they have the ability to communicate or either have good rationalization skills, because if you wipe out a few, the rest tend to go away and stay away for months. I've gone 6 months before without seeing a single squirrel on my 5 acres. But they will eventually return as a new generation of them develop.

Invest in a quality pellet rifle with a good scope. I have a Benjamin Nitro piston .22 pellet rifle that has probably 100+ kills in it. Had it 10-12 years now, still a nail driver. Goes right through a squirrel body from 50 yards. Quiet, doesn't disturb anyone.

but stopped in RH first. Drove to the Inn at Patrick Square Friday night.

Saturday went to All In Coffee House for breakfast, some new coffee joint took over the Subway and it was crowded AF but they had a cute White Golden name Brick (I think). Did some shopping then went to the SUPER NICE CLEMSON WOMEN'S LACROSSE Facility.

That place was cool. Watched the game with UVa but the kids got restless and we missed the end. I sat near the Virginia Parents and knew very little about Lacrosse but apparently we were lucky to be in it, all the calls for them were correct but the calls against them were bad calls. They talk alot of shidd and I had to bite my tongue a little. It was hot and sunny and I got my first sunburn of the season. Summer is coming!

Back downtown for a little shopping and then Charleston Pub to eat with my niece and her roommates and watch some of the Clemson baseball game. I ran up a hefty tab there, oops. Double Titos and Soda will run your tab up fast. Wings were huge but probably expensive. 6 adults and 3 kids was pricey.

Up early to drive back to ILM through Columbia, I-26 is the absolutely worst road ever in the history of roads. Home by 12:30 then took daughter to volleyball practice, cleaned house, unpacked, slept.

WFH today, didn't feel like going to office.

Friday night...brought home gyros for the crew from Pita Way. decent

Saturday...laid around and recovered and did laundry. Took daughter-of and friend to gym. Took everyone out to McGee's for dinner, which was good. Watched the basketball team lay an egg at ND.

Sunday...made breakfast for the crew, hit church, lunch at Eggs Up Grill, first nap in den chair I've taken in a long time, started watching Patriot series on Prime (decent so far), did some work work, bed at 8:30.
