The term hater was invented by a culture that has lost the ability to conduct public discourse. It is a term used by those that lack the ability to formulate logical and constructive arguments. It is used in a pejorative manner to force ones opponent to defend his or her character when your argument is without validity and merritt. Disagreements in a mature and civilized culture are opportunities to understand different life perspectives and forge deeper understandings of complex issues. Lacking the ability to disagree civilly and constructively, we are left with little choice other than to divide ourselves into like minded camps and hurl insults at our opponents. Today's insults become tomorrow's bullets.

I prefer Lunatic Fringe. Same thing. Group of unhappy people who dislike Clemson basketball with a passion unseen anywhere in the country. Clemson basketball winning 20 or more games drives them insane.
