sign one autograph (that seems fast) then in two hours a player can only sign 720 items. If the turnout was actually 20,000 then Tajh, Sammy and others could not come close to signing for everyone unless they changed it from two hours to a 55 1/2 hour signing with no breaks. I understand everyone’s disappointment but don’t know how to get around it.

you estimate and cut the line off early...just don't let people stand there for three hours not knowing...theme parks estimate, it's simple math

you think yesterday was bad wait until all those people show up at 3 o'clock pm for the 8 o'clock game on the 31st. Then the ones that don't get out of the parking lot until daylight Sunday.

the University, the Athletic Department makes it abundantly clear that due to time limitations and the anticipated number of fans in attendance, some fans probably will not be able to get all of the player signatures they'd like to have.
If a player can only sign about 600 autographs an hour, Fan Day only lasts three hours, and there are more than 1,800 people waiting in line in front of you, people who stood there not knowing have no one to blame but themselves. As you said, "it's simple math."

totally right...they can advertise and get people downtown, generate local revenue and have no responsibility whatsoever in organization / crowd control...got it

imagine telling someone who drove from Charleston, Atlanta, etc that they can't even stand in line in hopes of getting in? That would solve the problem?

in a 3-4 hour period if they were hitting it hard. Realistically, probably half of that.
It's just not a manageable situation given the amount of time available.
