First road win against a top 25 non-conference foe? What

Dec 22, 2016, 6:52 AM

about the Kentucky game back in the Barnes era? '96 or '97 I believe. They had to have been ranked at the time...

explain how Clemson was 3-0 vs. SEC this season----UGa @ home, chickens in cola and 'bama at a neutral site.,.....How one figures Birmingham is a "neutral" site for Alabama, escapes me...Maybe some Auburn fans were in the stands??

yea that was a home game for Bama. Was moved to Birmingham due to students not being in class.

About as neutral as Bon Secours is for us ... in other words

*NOT* neutral at all.

Neutral would have had to have been somewhere outside the state of Alabama.

game vs Kentucky was neutral...

Seems like it was out in Arizona???

I wonder how many non-conference ranked road teams....

Dec 22, 2016, 9:47 AM

We have even played?
We would definitely have some neutral court wins and home court wins.
Come to think of it, it is an odd stat to emphasize. A lot of early games with ranked teams are neutral court games. Duke plays a lot of them without ever truly playing a road game.
My guess is we are something like 1-4 all time now. Our non-conference schedule has never been all that strong.
Any stat people here that can track this?

Exactly ... just this season we played ranked Xavier, but

Dec 22, 2016, 9:54 AM

it was at neutral site.

Most teams don't make a habit of scheduling games against traditional powers on their home courts in December. If you happen to meet one, it's usually because of a tournament pairing somewhere.
