May 20, 2014, 12:44 AM

Former Clemson star, Hugh Mauldin, from the Rock Hill area, passed away this past weekend at the age of 69. #40 was a star Running Back for The Tigers in the mid 60's and was well known for his toughness and determination. RIP, Mr. Mauldin!

Saw him play a number of times. The Rock Hill online newspaper had a very nice article along with current and past photos.

I was a freshman in 1965 and saw Hugh play his last year. A true Clemson man.

I remember Hugh Mauldin. He was from the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" days. Great back.

Used to see him around East Marietta a good bit when he lived in the Atlanta area. Great fun to talk to. Awesome truck too. Think he still ranks highly in Kick/Punt Returns. Recruited by Fred Cone.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
