He played 3 sports and was a super athlete. I think he would be perfect in Chad Morris offense.

How big was Banks? He played when a huge O-Lineman was 6-1 and 225 pounds. Also, he played in a pre-integration era when black athletes were not playing in the south so his competition was watered down.

You are right. in 1965 we had the "biggest line in the ACC" - averaged 235 pounds/man. Our quarterback - Jimmy "the needle" Addison was listed at 165 in the program. He wasn't close to that in full uniform with a backpack full of bricks - more like 140. As a manager I used to have to watch them weigh in before and after practice.

couldn't play these days is like saying no one back then could hang now, which I don't believe would be the case.
I certainly agree a lot of factors, esp what you mentioned would probably eliminate a lot of guys who did take the field back in those days from playing now, but superior athletic ability is tough to teach.
If guys in that era played now, it's not like they wouldn't take advantage of all the technology today to transform their bodies. I know you can't assume they would, but most likely they'd be bigger, stronger, faster than they were and would also have great technology to help sharpen that athletic ability with film study and all kinds of new practicing drills and techniques.
I do think players from past eras that were the best of the best would be good no matter when they played and Banks falls into that category. Since you can't prove or disprove it and will never be able to see it, it certainly makes for good discussion!

I've got a picture of Joe Jackson and Ty Cobb, their bats were #### fence post. I wonder how they'd do with today's bats.

which is pretty big for the day. Never seen him play. If he played between the tackles, he might not be durable. Likely play receiver or safety in the modern era.

of chess. Yes, there were outstanding players of the past who could probably have adapted to today's environment, but chess players 60 years ago could play at the grandmaster level without actually paying that much attention to cutting-edge opening theory. And games themselves came with adjournments after 40 moves and 2 1/2 hours of thought per side. Nowadays, professional players often have to compete in tournaments where they must play two games a day, with no adjournments, at faster controls, and in which a 14 year-old can beat your brains in just by having an excellent memory of opening novelties. Things just change.

Sorry guys, I have to disagree. Banks would find a way on that field in any offense. And quite honestly, Woody Dantzler, Homer Jordan, and Deshane Cameron would flourish in that offense.
