How many FSU players would have opted out for the national championship games if they had been selected?

Unless the NIL agreement specifically contracts them to play in the two national championship games, why would one and done Portal players risk their NFL future for no money.

Here's a list of all the Seminoles who won't be playing in Miami.

Yep and the puppies think they are accomplishing something....FSU got screwed out of the playoff and half the team thought UGA wasn't even worth their time so they opted out to secure their futures

Don't blame them

This isn't an argument ....it's a fact that FSU was pissed they got cheated out of the playoff and thought playing UGA wasn't worth risking their futures so 20+ players opted out. Every single opt out would have been playing if they were selected by the committee

None of that is up for debate or argument, those are the FACTS

No, they quit on their team rather than embrace the opportunity they had to prove everyone wrong. Opt out = quit. FSU lived by the portal and now dying by the portal.

So you are calling Nate Wiggins, Jeremiah Trotter and many others that have played their ##### off for Clemson but decided to opt out for the benefit of their futures a bunch of quitters?

I think that's what you are saying and it couldn't be further from the truth

Yes, they quit and nearly cost Clemson the game. “opting out” was not a thing until the last few years. Obviously, it’s a decision they make about their future, and I’m clearly not in that situation. If making the CFP/championship is all that matters, why don’t the really good players just opt out after two losses - everything else seems meaningless once they know the play off is out of reach (that may be different next year with 12 team playoff - so maybe quit if your team gets three losses).

I don’t think FSU would’ve won with all their players but don’t think it would be 63-3 either.

Opting out of a game against Clemson during Covid after Clemson had traveled and shown up is now going to be even greater tarnish now that they have a whole football team first string who cared so little about their university and brand that they would opt out of a New Year’s Day 6 bowl game en mass leaving their team to have a humiliating defeat.

We all understand why this is happening. But the stench of this is going to really stick.

And their cowardly refusal to feel a team against a Trevor Lawrence lead Clemson in the 2020 season will resonate more

None I believe. They still wouldnt be anything special without a QB, but they would have tried. With their starting QB nobody would have opted out for sure.

Georgia can lose 18 players to the portal and have any of the number of first round draft pick locks opt out and they still field a very strong roster of four star and five star players for their two deep. Have to give Georgia credit. They are doing a much better job with the talent they bring in than they used to.

UGA is rotating players in and out via recruitment and transfer portal to keep a strong happy two deep of players.

Also, most of the transfer portal people from Georgia are landing in top 50 division one programs. While some of our transfer portal losses do go to division one teams, the majority really are transferring down a division. Georgia is transferring players out to be starters in Division one programs and replacing them with better prospects.

Nate Wiggins and Jeremiah Trotter are great football players who have proven themselves, and they made very good business decisions to opt out of a meaningless bowl game.

They are first day or early second day draft picks, and will make more money in the NFL than we can ever pay them through NIL.

Very grateful that they came to Clemson, played for Clemson, and then had the graciousness to allow Woodaz and Lewis to get experience during the bowl game.

Tyler Davis, Xavier Thomas, Justin Mascoll, also made very good decisions to play. It may be their last time to ever play in a competitive football game. For two of them, at least they may have played themselves into better consideration from the NFL.
