I was just watching Woody Dantzler's Clemson highlights....

Jul 19, 2012, 11:12 AM

I was just watching Woody Dantzler's Clemson highlights on youtube... man I had almost forgotten how incredible he was. His running skills were just incredible and he was no slouch at throwing the rock around either. Imagine the Morris's offense with him running it. It would be #### near unstoppable.

was the first player in NCAA history to pass for 2000 and run for 1000 in a single season, and didn't even get an invite to NYC.

I'm torn...

want to TU your post just because you are right. But want to TD it because you have brought up a painful memory of one of Clemson's all time best football players getting the shaft.

I guess, but pretty sure we only won 6 or 7 games that year. He was incredible, but our defense was horrid.

You can't expect a player from a 6 or 7 win team to be considered for the heisman.

Why not? Where does it say the heisman winner has to be on a good team?

a Heisman winner should be so good that they lose no more

than a couple games... what would Baylor have done without RG3 last year? Probably absolutely nothing

Being from Atlanta, I got to watch Dantzler tear up GT's D in Bobby Dodd. The guy could flat out play.

Our running attack would be much improved, but I don't think he would put up the same passing numbers as boyd. Woody could throw a good deep ball, but his accuracy wasn't nearly as good as boyd's IMO.

One of my all-time favorite players

And all-around great guy. I hope Clemson gets him re-involved in the program again soon, he would be a fabulous ambassador for the university in all respects.

I got to see him in action up-close and personal at the NC State game, as I was on the field behind the end zone for much of that game. In fact on his longest TD run of the day, he almost ran me over after coming through the end zone. I can see myself on the replay, though only for a split second. That was an awesome, awesome day.

How do you think Coach Rod go to where he is today.

Jul 19, 2012, 12:55 PM

Woody could have made me look like a genius. Probable the greatest athlete I have ever seen in a Clemson uniform. I've been following the Tigers since 1967. Skip Wise was pretty good also.
