My turn to vent...

Dec 2, 2013, 3:38 PM

I purposefully avoided anything Clemson related on the internet until now. The thought of losing again to SC just sickens me. Much like last year, I didn't sleep well Saturday and was in a pretty pi$$y mood on Sunday.

I just don't know how to feel about the season. 10 wins...big bowl win last year...etc. I guess it IS a disappointment to me. The Georgia win was nice, but the throttling by FSU and the ineptitude against SC classifies this as a poor season to me. I'm not necessarily going to bash the coaches or the QB play or the fumbles, but seriously I was shaking my head quite a few times, not just Saturday, but other times this year when it mattered most.

I'll always be a Tiger fan, but won't continue to give the team a pass because we win 10 games and win a few big games a year. I'll give credit where it's due. Thanks to Dabo, Morris, Tajh, Sammy, Nuk, etc., the bar has been raised the past few seasons. It's time to see us take the next step though. Biggest loss at home and a new longest streak for our rival is unacceptable to me. I've been a pretty vocal supporter the past few seasons, but I'm taking off the orange colored glasses this offseason and expect more from the next Tiger class. I'm sorry for you folks living in SC who have to endure the Gamecock's bragging rights. It's bad enough dealing with this loss on my own and maybe I'll get over it in time, but it probably won't be until we beat the Gamecocks again.

My apologies for the sour post folks, just had to vent a little...

How about if...

Clemson would go 6 and 6 next year winning to Ga, FSU, and SC as the three most impressive wins and losing to Wake, Duke, and Syracuse. (The real meaning of "PULLING A CLEMSON") The networks can schedule all our games for 12 and 1 if they even decide to broadcast them at all, and for the end we can go to the steppingbackwards bowl. Would that put the past two 10 and 2 regular season records into perspective for you?

Your rationale helps a bit as it puts our past into the conversation. I'm glad we have gotten past those days. Again, it's about moving forward, which we have done, but the bar has been raised. An FSU loss, sure I could stomach that, just not the way we lost. The SC loss just gripes my ###.

Thanks for your post though, it does help a bit...

typical rose colored glasses comment. You just don't get it do you?

Clemson can win 10 or 11 games every year

and if they still lose to South Carolina it's a mediocre season. Dabo has seemed to solve the Clemson losing to unranked opponents problem but created entirely new ones in the process.

There's something in these hills.

They're not as bad as I thought they'd be,

Most concur that we #### the bed. But IMO that makes it worse. It means they are in our heads. I would rather see us go out and play a great game and just flat out get beat than what happened Saturday night.

It sucks but the bottom line is we're a top 10 program right now and so is Scar. I would rather be where we are now than where we were 5-10 years ago when we were beating them every year and I have to listen to the ######## every day at work, church, family reunions. Every time I turn around I'm talking to a coot.
