Love Shipley but I'm not sure he's even a second day NFL pick so no reason for him to sit out a year. He's a great college player but I doubt the NFL is chomping at the bit to draft him before the 6-7th rounds.

Shipley is a marginal chance at NFL. Size issue that will be a key problem. Stick with Clemson that way be all he will ever do

Agree. He's a high effort college guy, but i dont really think he has the talent/size. Mafah should probably be RB1 since he has the build to be a real star.

I think breaking a lot of Florida's passing yardage records in HS and then coming in and becoming like the 4th string QB at Clemson might have something to do with it.

next year. He could go 2nd round with a great season, but it would take an incredible season to go 1st round as RBs just don't go high in the draft very often.
Sitting out next season would be a terrible look. I think he'd get drafted, but it's unlikely it would be in the first 3 rounds.

He was prolific as a HS player, but was in a huge log jam at QB at Clemson and was not nearly good enough to rise to the top. Especially after TL arrived.
He might have prospered by starting out at a lower level elsewhere, but we offered (for some reason) and he jumped on the offer.
I don’t honk he did anything in football after leaving Clemson.

Shipley would have NOTHING to gain from sitting. In fact it would hurt him. Right now the best he could hope for is 4th rd. By sitting he takes more opportunities to show his abilities. What teams would have to go off of would show heart, decent receiving skills, decent speed, average vision, not so good blocking and blitz pick up.
I love Ship. But he's not going to come out in the 2024 draft (leaving as a Jr) and get drafted in the first 2 rounds. There is so little value in RBs these days and very few go in first 3 rds. Travis Etienne was a record breaker, durable, learned pass pro, showed good receiving skills, good vision, burst, with game breaking speed and plenty of highlights. He literally is one of the best backs to ever play college football. Statistically, he would be in very elite company. But he barely made it in the 1st.
If TI thinks Ship could benefit from sitting a year because he would potentially be a 1st rounder, then its no wonder he never played in Clemson, cause he knows nothing about the sport.
