Here's how I handled my coot friends who wanted to rib me...

It was interesting...one shouted, "How 'bout them Gamecocks!" The other shouted, "How 'bout them Tigers!" I thought that was odd. Anyway, I managed a slight smile and gave them a thumbs up. They were speechless...didn't know what to say...so they didn't say anything. After 5 in a row they WANT us to argue, alibi, play what if, whine about turnovers, talk about BCS bowls and all of that. But I don't give them the satisfaction. I just say something like, "Yep, you've got our number right now." No sense arguing with them because the truth is it's hard to defend losing 5 in a row, I don't care what caused it. We'll be back, but don't expect their program to fall on hard times...at least not as long as Spurrier and his staff are there. Like it or not, they are playing a higher level of football than most Carolina teams have played and they're a tough out right now. But we're not gonna give up. We'll just grit our teeth and bear it until our time comes back around. But in the meantime we need to keep improving.
