NIL money is currently focused lopsidedly on offensive playmakers. That is why we are still able to maintain a strong defense even though we are 8 figures behind in NIL budget. It is why we have no difference makers on offense - we can't afford them. Even if we cut coaching salaries by 80% we would still get outbid for the blue chip talent every year. If our market could support a pro football program financially, the Panthers and Falcons would not stink every single year. That is where we are, unregulated pro football played on college campuses. I am glad Clemson made it to the top of the heap before this happened. It was fun to watch.

That’s a good question BUT he may de-commit after this $hit show we’ve put on this season. I’m afraid the transfer portal will be full of our top players in the off season

We have way better players than Duke and they beat us easily. We have way better players than Miami, and they beat us with a true freshman QB in his first game.
They have better coaching.

This is why none of us will be watching CFB in 10 years. They do not realize that without some sort of parity the sport will be destroyed.

Good post and why I am struggling with college football and my Clemson Tigers. The college football scene has changed so dramatically, and it is hard to watch (like Clemson football). I will always be a TIGER but this is really hard for me to follow. Fortunately, I got to see 3 National Championships, which is still amazing. Admittedly, I have little confidence we see another in the near future. I hope I eat those words as nothing would make me happier as a devote Clemson fan than another football National Championship.
