Cornerback Greg Reid dismissed from Florida State football team

Greg Reid, the Seminoles electric return man and starting cornerback, has been dismissed from the team for violating team rules.
The announcement came this morning from coach Jimbo Fisher, three weeks after Reid was arrested following a traffic stop in his hometown of Valdosta, Ga., and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license. Fisher did not offer a comment.
Reid, a senior, was also arrested last fall and charged with resisting arrest and perjury in connection with a case involving a friend that was riding his scooter. Those charges were later dropped.
Reid previously was suspended for the season opener last year against Charleston Southern for a violation of team rules.
Florida State, a consensus top 10 pick and the overwhelming choice to win the ACC, will rely on its defense as it attempts to return to the elite of college football. Reid is a three-year starter at cornerback and was a preseason candidate for The Paul Hornung Award presented to the most versatile player in major college football and a first-team All-ACC preseason pick as a specialist.
He had seven interceptions and 120 tackles in 38 career games but he gained his reputation as one of the nation’s top kick returners. Reid needed 314 yards to break Deion Sanders’ Florida State career record of 1,429 punt return yards. As a freshman he led Division I in punt returns with an 18.4 yard average. He also had 1,553 kick return yards for a 24.7 average.
Reid has two options: He could transfer to a lower division school and play this season or use the red-shirt he still has available and sit out one year before playing his final season at another FBS school.
Tyler Hunter or Nick Waisome could fill Reid’s spot at cornerback.

They fail to mention that he got arrested Tuesday night for the same thing he got arrested for 3 weeks ago.......
