Go Tigers! Beat OU!

I have got to say I am a little perturbed with some of my fellow Tigers.

"This is an insult."

"Decline the bowl and stay home."

"Oklahoma isn't even ranked."

I remember in '88 getting down to Orlando as the team prepared for the Citrus bowl. While my friends and I were enjoyed Disney World we were also reading comments from Barry Switzer and the Sooners indicating that they were a better team, deserved a better bowl, and a better opponent than Clemson. That pissed me off. I think it pissed off Coach Ford and the players as well. It was a great, defensive game that we won, sending Switzer out on a note that he deserved.

Fast forward to today. We didn't get the Citrus Bowl. The way the system is set up our 9-3 Tigers drew the 8-4 Sooners in the Russell Athletic Bowl. GET OVER IT! Man up! Get ready for the game and play some football! Beat the Sooners again!

But do not say that we deserve better. If we had won the game at FSU, then yes, we would deserve better. We didn't. We lost. Accept it. Make the best of it. Remember it. Encourage the team. Cheer as loud as you can for the Tigers. Beat the Sooners and then come out like gangbusters next year and run the table. But don't disrespect the other team. Respect them and their accomplishments and then beat the tar out of them and actually show that we are the better team.

Go Tigers!
