Can we all now agree that it's time to cut Brownell loose?

How do we spin the incoming transfers now transferring out into a positive? Addition by subtraction?
How much longer can we pretend that things are trending in the right direction?

Getting folks to agree on this board is impossible.

On this topic, we should now have unanimity.

Once Honor transferred out, Dawes' knew his playing time likely went up. When the guys who know you best and play the most transfer out, it's not a good sign.

I wonder if Brad really wanted that Butler job? I would have ran for it. They hired Thad Matt...

I just posted about that. Would Neff have brought him back if both PGs would be gone? maybe this was the changes Neff was referring to his letter. Better hit the portal hard.

That would suggest that Brownell and Neff expected neither

transfer to happen. Perhaps Coach Brownell encouraged them to leave to make room for others, but I don't see how losing your two best and most experienced point guards makes you better.

At the very least it means the team will be searching for chemistry in the early season and drop those early season head scratchers they usually do. It’s shouldn’t be any surprise that the one season he avoided those and went on to the Sweet Sixteen was the year they played all summer in the World Games or whatever it was called.

NCTIGS I think he brings him back regardless. Not sure of the why but not sure what would get him fired. Buyout is too expensive in my opinion. I think financially they ride him out for a couple of more years and see what happens.

piece.
As Terrence Oglesby said in the interview when asked why he thinks Brownell is retained - "What's changed in the last 12 years?"

The buyout is only too big if you believe they would actually ever let him exhaust his contract without any more extensions. Otherwise it never really gets markedly better.

Yea we are currently screwed imo on the financials as far as the basketball budget. Buyout plus the costs of new coach. Then I’m not sure of the costs of all these other bells and whistles some think would make us better.

Outside of two posters (possibly the same person / Brownell's wife).
Well anyway, Neff doesn't agree, and he's the one who counts, eh?

Brad’s lunatic fringe will say we’re just getting started! Maybe there’s smoke with the highly recruited PG who delayed his decision until later this month.

2022-2023 season over. Wake me up when the higher ups wake up at Clemson and make a change. Glad I don't give to IPTAY. Its like paying Taxes to our current administration. Waste waste waste.

It was made clear to me earlier that since IPTAY doesn’t actually pay coaches salaries that paying IPTAY also makes us irrelevant.

It happens in every program today. No story here or there wouldn't be 3000 athletes in the Portal.

Wouldn't you rather lose players than haven't played

instead of the starting point guard and the first point guard off the bench who would have both been seniors? It does make you wonder what were their expectations for next year that made them decide it was better to play their last years elsewhere? We don't have their replacements on the team currently.
How does this make us better?
