Fumble on Cade or Ship?

Oct 8, 2023, 7:37 AM

I’m thinking Cade but my HS days are long in the past!

It was definitely Cade. Sometimes, he seems to play too fast. He could never run the slow mesh.

I think once the ball is in his grasp Ship doesn't want to give it up. Do you think Ship doesn't get wound up and is ready to go as much as (if not more than) Klubnik?

Both are good backs, but one of the big differences between Mafah and Shipley is that Mafah has more patience.

Could have been just taking the bullet but Shipley

said it was on him. Said he makes it difficult for Cade to pull the ball back out

I agree. Way I saw on replay Ship wants ball so bad he Probly subconsciously fights to take it. Not criticizing just his competivness

I think it is on Cade. Watching it in slow motion you can see ship moving his hands back to let go of it. But it was too late. But Ship is doing the right thing blaming himself. That’s being a team player.

Not totally. Not at all.

Shipley said it was his fault. He wanted the ball sp much, he didn't let Cade have it.

this should have been eliminated in fall camp. Teh fact it still happens represents and onging issue that isn't address and corrected.

Will Shipley 100%

i watched it from directly behind them . noone between me and Shipley and Cade

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it wasn't until TNET that i learned that people are blaming Cade

2

Oct 8, 2023, 8:05 AM

that's why i'm borderline quitting tigernet

fans just don't know the game or have a view to watch what is really going on in the games

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"borderline quitting", as unsure as Cade on that mesh...

2

Oct 8, 2023, 8:56 AM

No good can come of that.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no, it would be good if he even half quits

I had a direct view as well and thought Cade just couldn’t make up his mind fast enough.

Re: Looked like Cade

Shipley took the blame for it in the postgame interview, but personally I think it’s on both of them. They just don’t seem to be on the same page. The outburst at Cade on the field later by Ship was example. If Cade was thinking it’s time to pull it back from Ship, then he did it too late because Will was already to far away and the ball ended up back above his hip.

TV had excellent angles. It’s not hard to see.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cade is in charge of making the decision.

1

Oct 8, 2023, 8:39 AM

Ship was snatching the ball from Cade's hands after the allotted time for the decision expired. Ship was justified in doing so and as many times as he did so we didn't fumble. The fumbles are all on Cade and he knows it.

The passenger is never arrested for reckless homicide.

We’re 6 games into the season, wouldn’t you think they would have this worked out by now?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

this is something that you work on in the spring and august

Oct 8, 2023, 11:49 AM

so we will wait til then to do it....

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

1st, it's a little far along to be having that issue...

2

Oct 8, 2023, 8:50 AM

It's happened before.

Cade is the decision maker, if he's going to rip and run, then rip it. It's one of the reasons girls don't play the game.

It appears to me he let Ship get too far into the LOS and it cost them both.

If Ship is more than cradling it like a baby on the mesh, then that doesn't help, but clearly he's not taking it from Cade or it wouldn't be on the ground.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

100% Cade

he chose to pull the ball out, that was obvious.

It's on the coaches. If they can't get that crap down in practice they need to stop calling the road option. This is the 3rd or 4th fumble this year from that play.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Road option? If you come to a fork in it, then take it...***

Cade said he read the End coming down... which is a pull... then he saw the LB filling the outside gap and tried to give it back to Shipley... too late.

That’s clearly a pull it pull it pull it read. End crashing hard. Easy read. Cade has to hit power hour and pull it from the madman in that case every time. Look at the WR’s actually on blocks and all of that green grass Cade had!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It really doesnt matter but Ship said it was on him

Oct 9, 2023, 9:19 PM

…maybe he was just being polite to his teammate, but he did say it.
