FSU vs. ND
Oct 5, 2014, 10:31 PM

There was a question posted here earlier today that I would like to get an answer to, but it deteriorated into trash talk that never seemed to address the original question. Do losses by ACC teams to ND count as conference losses or are they like playing an OOC conference opponent? Will they count next year or any time in the foreseeable future? I think that I know that the answer is that they do not count, but I am hoping that it is still early enough on a work/school night to get a serious answer.

Games against ND do not count in the records of ACC schools. They will not count any time in the reasonably foreseeable future. ND is not eligible to play in the ACCCG. Sheesh.

I don't think they count. ACC teams have an 8 game schedule, right? So those that play ND, like FSU this year, would then have a 9 game ACC scedule? That is if the ND game counted. Thought the ACC agreed to not have 9 conference games.

Doesn't count

A loss to Notre Dame does not count as an ACC conference loss. Look at Syracuse's conference record (0-1). Syracuse lost to both Notre Dame and Louisville and only have a 0-1 conference record.

They must not count. Look at the ACC standings. Syracuse is 0-1 in ACC and they have lost to ND and Louisville.

The standing showed the loss to both teams. The total numbers added up to total number of games played. It was updated. The numbers add up. The ND loss was not in the ACC column.
