For "the sky is falling" crowd...

Sep 22, 2014, 9:58 AM

I realize that nothing I suggest here will quell your desire to fire all the coaches, stop donating to the university, call out specific players to be kicked off the team for having a bad game, sharing your vast knowledge of football that is undoubtedly superior to all Clemson coaches throughout history combined, and (for the most part) spreading a ton of negative energy on a fan site to which you predictably do not donate. It's also pretty laughable that most of you literally only show up following a loss. It's almost like you are secretly pulling for Clemson to lose so that you can pop a Zima and get to ranting.

Anyway, I was very encouraged by Watson's poise Saturday night. Running this offense in a hostile environment on national TV seemed like something he'd been doing for years, and I can't wait to watch him grow for the rest of this season and beyond.

Our defense was absolutely dominant the entire game, and I especially loved how aggressive they were even when FSU had moved inside our 40 yard line. There were numerous times when FSU would have surely scored at least 3 if it were not for the negative plays created by the defense.

Stephone Anthony is an absolute beast. It seemed like he was in on every single play Saturday night. I'm really happy for him to finally be healthy enough to show how great of a player he can be.

I don't see us losing another game this season, especially if the defense continues to set the tone like that. I doubt that will be enough for a spot in the playoff, but 10-2 and crushing the coots would sit just fine with me.

Go Tigers!

"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

Saturday was a tough loss for our young squad.

They had chances, but it didn't work out. I'll be in the Valley Saturday night pulling for the Tigers to punish John Swofford and UNC. Let's hope we put 70 more points on the University of No Classes (if you are a student athlete) !

absolutely dominant does not

mean letting a first time starter throw for over 300 yards including a 70 yard TD and then let the opponents run you over for the winning td in overtime.
Revisionist history is great on this board. The defense was very good most of the time but Venables rushing 3 and 4 and not getting early constant pressure let their qb gain the confidence he needed for that long td pass. Run D was impressive.

I don't know of anyone saying the sky is falling

Just that we deserve better coaching than what we've gotten for the past 2 decades. I want to know why you pumpers are cool with 1 conference championship in the last 20 years. Is that the Clemson standard??

I want to know why you dumpers

have the nerve to put Dabo and Tommy Bowden in the same category. We've won a conference title and an Orange Bowl in the past several seasons. We were also ranked for something like a bazillion straight weeks. We are recruiting at the highest level in our history. Do you know how many programs would gladly trade spots with Clemson?

But I guess NONE of that can be attributed to coaching right?

smh

We have an amazing campus and a fan base dedicated

Sep 22, 2014, 10:25 AM

to football. We deserve better than most programs out there, so I don't care if they'd switch places with us. And I don't lump Dabo in with Tommy, because Tommy could beat the dirtpeckers. At the end of the day it's all about championships and rivalry games. Dabo has 1 championship with alllllllllllll of that talent you talked about.

Also, I'm so sick of hearing about how good our recruiting is. Clemson is not a hard sell. I bet you that if we got a coaching staff in here that actually knew how to coach, recruiting would all but take care of itself.

NEWSFLASH. WE ARE BETTER AND HAVE BEEN BETTER IN DABO'S TENURE THAN THE VAST MAJORITY OF PROGRAMS OUT THERE. IF YOU CAN'T SEE AND/OR APPRECIATE THAT, THEN I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU.

I think people just want this program to take that next step

Sep 22, 2014, 10:32 AM [ in reply to I want to know why you dumpers ]

and we blew a golden opportunity on Saturday. People that want Morris or Dabo fired are off base, but its certainly fair to question them....thas whats fans do. Morris sometimes seems to outhink some things and I really wish we had the ability to tramble people running the ball or run a qb sneak.....that is completely on the coaching. Thats a mentality and coached effort deal.

We'll move on finish the season well, but it definitely hurts knowing what happened on Saturday.

pessimists ain't gonna like this

Whatever you do, always give 100%.....unless it's donating blood

10-2, crushing the coots, and an OB probably as well.

Sep 22, 2014, 10:28 AM

Definitely wouldn't mind that.

I don't think the sky is falling, but we were clearly

outcoached on Saturday. That is a problem. If we cannot adapt it is going to be pretty darn easy to figure us out.

Out coached? I definitly don't agree with all the play calls Morris made but out coached didn't lose the game!! Players didn't make the palys when it counted. You can't put the lose on anybody IMO, it's just the way the ball bounces.
