Fargo S2. Best show on TV. Best show ever?

My .02: Might be unfair to compare a self-contained "mini-series" with serialized shows like Breaking Bad, LOST, THE WIRE, Sopranos, The Shield, etc. but my goodness is Fargo just killing it right now. Obviously, we need to wait for the whole season to be over (two more episodes) but I can't see how the creators could possibly screw this season up.

I watched the last two episodes back-to-back and the emotional gamut it delivered was amazing. From almost crying when Betsy discusses with Karl what to do when she dies to almost crying from laughter with the kidnapping of Dodd and Peggy feeding him beans/stabbing him. Then there's the fun of the violence in the show and how exhilarating it can be. Case in point, Mike with the sleeve gun and Hanzee taking out the "shitkickers."

The show is doing everything it attempts at an extremely high level. I'm glad it's coming back for a S3. Not sure how it could top this season (though I thought the same last season, so...)

I'll stick with the Flash and Arrow. wink

And other normal shows like The Walking Dead.***

I'm hoping it gets better, I'm not hooked yet.

Flash, Arrow and Walking dead are all similar to me...

They fall into the "guilty pleasure" category. They are incredibly watchable but formulaic and have huge problems that they struggle with (especially walking dead) but are still fun enough to watch. I'm not trashing them as I enjoy all three (though I do like Flash and Walking dead more than Arrow) but I can't come up with one thing they do better than Fargo.

Fargo is just better in every category than every show I can think of.

I may have to check it out.

I enjoyed the movie. It seems like it may be comparable to Bates Motel, (quality wise) and I've enjoyed that.

No love for GoT?***

Enjoy it very much.

But as the nature of the ambitious task it's set for itself (adapting the books) it's not surprising that often times it hits a few wrong notes. Still, that Whitewalker fight last year was amazing and why I watch it.

Put GoT in with Breaking Bad/Wire for why it's hard to compare these shows but to me Fargo just does everything better than most shows I've seen. Maybe it's a product of the miniseries format (though American Horror Story is all kinds of awful and it's a similar structure but I place that on Ryan Murphy more than anything).
