EAGLE NEST PIP WATCH Tuesday 3/5/23

God's work is amazing in so many ways. This is just one example. The million dollar view is not bad either.

The first laid egg should be hatching any day now. The camera aimed at the nest is being monitored at least up until midnight. It may be monitored all night, I just don't watch after midnight. But each time Jackie or Shadow get up off of eggs to fluff the nest and turn the eggs, the camera zooms in on the eggs to see if any pip has occurred to egg shell. The crew monitoring the nest are just as eager as we to see the first hatch and expect it at any time. The eagles are turning the eggs quite often.

The eaglet inside will start pecking at the egg to get out. It may take a while. Be patient. The eagles are doing all they can. Nature does the rest.

I suppose now would be a good time to listen to the song, "ANY DAY NOW". I may post that link as a reminder.

The eaglet does not appear instantly from the egg. It takes some time to peck its way out. It is a slow process.

During the first two to three weeks after hatching at least one parent typically remains at the nest.

Weather yesterday was really nice. This week the weather is supposed to be sunny with some clouds but no snow or rain.

Shadow spent one 5 hour session on the nest yesterday. Jackie was ready to take a rest and fill her crop.

Enjoy watching God at work. His majestic wonders are all around us. We just need to take the time to see it. This eagle nest is like no other in the world. It is being watched on a daily basis by over 20,000 people worldwide.

If you have a smart tv or Roku, bring up You Tube, NOT YOU TUBE TV, Repeat NOT YOU TUBE TV, on your tv. In the search block, type in Big Bear Valley Eagle Cam, and it will bring up the nest. Click on that and you can watch the nest on your tv. You will be surprised at how much better the nest and everything looks. You will get a much better idea of how big the nest is and how strong the wind is blowing.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

As of 2:42 eastern time, the last camera zoom officially showed no pip on any egg. There are dirty spots on eggs which can appear to be cracks or holes. The eggs are being watched very closely by the experts and we will officially know when a pip appears. I will try to keep up as best I can and report. Right now I have the softball game on TV and nest on my cell phone. When Clemson sports is not on TV, I have the nest on TV. 75 inch.so I get a really good look.
