Will Gabe D and Grantham both get significant PT?

If not start next year? If KJ leaves Grantham will start for sure and he may even if he stays, although I like Blossomgame. I think Gabe should get a legit shot. What we have now is inconsistent. There will be some early growing pains, but from his video highlights he is a very exciting player. I'm pulling for him to be the starting 2.

Hall Devoe Blossomgame McDaniels Nnoko. Starting 5 next year. I have thought since January that Nnoko is the player that makes the team better. I have noticed that the team struggles to score with Nnoko on the bench. Also after another summer with the bigs we have this staff will coach them up like Nnoko. I expect to a lot of improvement next year. We are starting to see where this program is headed and I like the direction we are headed. I look at the basketball program as I did the football program 4 years ago I liked the direction we were headed and it proved to be best stretch in a long time.

Nnoko will improve his offense next year where I believe he will average 12 a game. My hope and belief for Djitte is that he will be next year what Nnoko is this year. That would be a great backup for us. Like most freshmen, I do think there will be an acclimation period for Grantham and Devoe but believe both will be solid contributors next year.

A few questions ...
Feb 26, 2014, 3:52 PM
|
|
How will they adjust to the speed of the college game? Can they get their shot off versus bigger & quicker players?
How strong are they - can they handle the physicality especially rebounding? Are they quick jumpers?
How well can they defend ... and rebound (technique)?
How good / strong are their hands - passing & catching?
Hard to say watching a kid's highlight tapes.

KJ isn't a top 30 pick so he will not be leaving. If you aren't drafted in the top 20 no need to leave unless your not on track with credits towards a degree. Anyone who can shoot the three above 40% and can shoot it over bigger guards will start.
PG-Hall SG-? SF-KJ PF-? Center-Noko
Clemson needs far more production out of the 2 and 4 spot next year too starting winning against good teams. This year Clemson has 3 players in the lineup who put no pressure on the defense. We also have no outside shooting, yes we have players who can shoot it, but with low percentages. Harrison can be that player and could win the starting SG spot, but he has to step up his game. Roper can't get his shot off if the other team focuses on him, but he can help against a zone. Clemson needs shooters and a backup PG.

type of jump it is from the high school game to college. Possible? Yes. But I think the speed of the game will cause them to struggle early, especially defensively.
If KJ stays, our first 5 won't change much, nor should it.

albeit last night was a horrible game for him it showcased why he's not quite ready yet. He's a 2G in the NBA and his ball handling and outside shot are still the weakest part of his game. So assuming he's back
PG-Hall, Filer, Roper? I actually see Roper as a potential transfer or redshirt-he won't be playing 2G next year
2G-Harrison(if he stays, someone has to leave, he has a mission trip to take but doubt he does so with a 1 year left), Rooks, Devoe
SF-KJ, Grantham, backing him up and easing in, Ajukwa
PF-Blossomgame, Smith/Djambo(believe one of them could leave)
C-Nnoko, Djitte

I had not thought about Roper possibly leaving, but the way he has struggled this year I would not be surprised if he transfers. Harrison has really played well lately, and if he can keep this up then we will be in great shape at the 2 spot next year. Roper might get squeezed out with the other guys we have and with the addition of Rooks and Devoe.

just speculating looking at the roster. I like Jordon a lot, he's a great kid and plays hard, but he's simply not big enough to play the 2G in the ACC, and his PG skills are not where they'd need to be to supplant Hall or Filer. And with the depth we'll have at 2G if Harrison stays(probable) he's looking at no PT. If he stayed I'd love him to redshirt and focus totally on PG and be ready when Hall graduates. If KJ stays, and I really believe he will, someone who played minutes this year will leave, as the players coming in(plus Rooks) will take up some PT next year. It'll work out somehow
