chance on injury before draft, but are bowl games just like made for tv scrimmages now? I mean does winning one of losing one even matter? Even Rose, Orange and other NY6 have opt outs when not a playoff. Has there been a player opt out of a playoff game yet? Pretty sure that's coming.

The NIL and transfer portal have just about ruined what college football used to be. I hate both of them!

After this year no Team should go to a Bowl game. They are competing for a slot in the playoffs. I, for one, will not be traveling to a bowl game that does nothing for the Team except provide additional practices.

NIL has ruined the sport. Still love watching but when is ENOUGH!!! I guess when people quit buying tickets and supporting booster clubs and put it back in the universities to pay these dudes, it will continue. I believe every time you transfer, you should have to pay your scholarship back. Heck they already get free food, clothes, rent, scholarship, and stipends. I had to pay for my daughter to graduate college. Let them have to pay for their own tuition, if they can’t be loyal or cut it

Coaches, agents and the schools themselves “ruined” the sport by placing so much emphasis on money.
Players deserve what they get. Quit blaming them

That's why I think it is reasonable for a coach to consider....

....a bowl game as an extra Spring practice. Let the seniors hang around and help out during the practices. Let them go to the bowl game and have a lot of fun at the activities. But, use the 15 practices to get ready for next year and think of the bowl game as an inner-squad Spring scrimmage.

I do. I remember when your teammates were your brothers and you’d never even consider leaving them to fend for themselves while you did “what’s best for me.” I’m glad we hold our young men and women in the military or first responders who are often the same age, to higher standards than athletes. what if the soldier, fireman, or EMT decided not to complete their job to do what’s “best for them”?

And a reward for the team’s efforts this season. That’s how you have to treat it now days. It’s not all bad. They are getting meaningful game practice before next year.
