Demand for Natty Tickets

Jan 4, 2017, 10:00 PM

The ticket demand for this game is incredible. The following post is on the TigerNet Ticket Marketplace:

FOR SALE : 2 National Championship Tickets. Clemson Club Level Section 202. Purchased through Clemson. Physical tickets available tomorrow (1-5-17) in Clemson, Anderson or Spartanburg area. Cash only. 1150 each or better offer. Thanks everyone. THESE TICKETS HAVE BEEN SOLD. In 1HR,42 minutes I have received 55 text messages, 19 phone calls and 51 emails. Just an incredible response. The tickets traded hands at 1300 each. Many thanks to all of you who reached out. Go Tigers!

so around 100 buyers for one available pair of tickets

even at twice face value.

Not surprising at all. Never seen such a demand/shortage.

Good luck to anybody that doesn't have them yet.

I've seen this demand before.....

Jan 4, 2017, 10:54 PM

At the 2006 BCSNCG in Glendale with UF and OSU and again at the BCSNCG in Miami b/t UF and OU. I have season tix at CLEM & UF. I went to school at UF--but grew up in a CLEM family and pull for both teams.

Last years ticket situation in Arizona was unique, an anomaly....a perfect convergence of circumstances which caused the ticket value to go down. Some Clemson fans think that circumstance is normal---its not from my experience. I remember being in the Gray parking lot in Glendale in 2006 and watching ppl exchange over $2000 in CASH for upper singles. I sold my extra upper endzone pair to a young UF alumni for $750/each (Face was $325/each) and could've easily gotten $1200-$1400/each. Watched literally hundreds in the Blue lot outside the Orange Bowl in 2008 not get in--there were no tickets to be had all afternoon.

I will say I think things may loosen up a bit and not be as bad as what I saw in 06 and 08 (economic times were different then too)---but it isn't going to be like last year....JMO.

People expecting a sharp decrease in price are in for a rude awakening.

Prices might come down slightly, but the demand for tickets this year is incredible. Two fam bases mostly within a reasonable drive of the game, plus the added interest due to it being a rematch of last year. Methinks the people who plan on waiting until close to game time to get cheaper tickets will be very disappointed.

I know many who have no affiliation with either school who are going (and can afford) to go to the game. Almost like a mini-Super Bowl

the rematch hurts demand pretty significantly

non-Clemson fans don't want to see a rematch.

The venue's size and location and Clemson's excitement is driving this. Alabama will dump at least 1000 tickets on the market tomorrow driving prices down.

I had two in our party get hurt in a car accident and we listed two tickets as best offer. They sold in less than an hour at $1500.00 each. We had offers up to $2000.00 but money in the hand talks.

I had 3 extra tickets last year in Phoenix and couldn't even get face value.

This is going to be one hell of a game!

Go Tigers
