Delayed whistles against NCSt

I was upset after the game ended and wanted to come on Tigernet, but thought better for my sanity to just let it go and forget about it.

It was weird how often the calls were delayed by a second or two in that game, though, which always makes you question the call more when it wasn't called the second it happens.

PJ obviously got fouled on the rebound off the free throw miss and you know NCSt was told to foul if he misses, but I can't help but wonder if it was going to be another delayed whistle for the foul, but by the time they were going to call it, everyone was on the floor grabbing for it and it was just easier and safer to call a jump ball?

While the officiating was terrible in that game, I do think it was fairly balanced with no calls one possession after a player was mugged and then a delayed whistle touch foul the next, but the last three possessions were definitely all NC State calls or no calls, which is why we can't keep putting ourselves in a situation where the refs control the outcome.

puts up a shot. The ball hits the rim but does not go in. After the ball bounces away, you hear a whistle. A foul is called and free throws are awarded. Now, if a foul was committed, why not blow the whistle when you think the foul took place, instead of waiting to see if the shot is made? If it was a foul after the ball did not go in, it was a foul when the shot was attempted. If it wasn't a foul when the ball was shot, don't make it a foul when the shot is missed.

It seems to me that refs are deliberately waiting to see if the shot is made before calling the foul. This is not the proper way to officiate a basketball game.

Officials just blew the last minute. Up to that point I’m pretty sure they called them for about twice as many fouls as us. We were already shooting double bonus free throws and they weren’t even in the bonus yet with 6 team fouls

When the refs put NCST big man on the bench with plenty of minutes on the clock and play calls for Clemson don’t focus on that, we have a coaching issue which we have known about for years. Brad might have more time outs in his pocket than wins by the end of the season.

Calling a timeout allows the defense to set up. Just like against Virginia it was 100% the right call to not call a timeout. The problem is players not making winning plays. Chase Hunter always has been and always will be all over the place. Most guards drop the ball off for a game-winning layup. He didn’t make the right play.
