You certainly can, but if you had any dignity you would practice self restraint and show respect for those elected to lead our great nation. I don't care much for our President. I didn't vote for him 4 years ago and will not next month. But he is the President. As such, he is worthy of the honor due the office. True Clemson people know this; and should live it. If you are unwilling, or unable, to bridle your arrogance, how about becoming a fan of another school. You will not be missed. Clemson is bigger than you, and those of us who love "her" would like to keep it that way. Go Tigers!

1) You can say whatever you want.
2) You can boo anytime and at anyone you want.
This does not prevent you from looking like (or actually being) an idiot.
It does not prevent others from telling you so.
It does not prevent others from choosing to landblast* you for some period of time not to exceed...forever.
It DOES prevent you from going to jail for what you say. That's about it.
Now, the oath did not specifically refer to the sitting president, but rather the office of the commander-in-chief. I think we can all respect that. If you can't - WELL YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Being a tool is your right as well.
Don't like the president. Didn't vote for him. Won't vote for him. BUT THIS WASN'T ABOUT HIM AT ANY POINT.

Excellent post. I don't know why the 1st Amendment seems to be so difficult for some to comprehend. Newsflash, if you went to your boss and called him/her a #########, you'd probably get fired (or at least disciplined in some manner). That wouldn't be any more of a violation of your 1st Amendment rights than people pointing out the douchebaggery of those that boo'd the president last weekend.
I really find it amusing that many here that claim that their 1st Amendment rights are being violated here are the same that bring the constitution into debates on so many other items - including things like abortion rights, Obamacare, assault weapons bans, etc. Sorry, but if you can't get past the 1st Amendment without looking like an idiot, then you should ####.

I graduated from Clemson. I was also wounded. The oath is sacred and the boos came, in a place called, MEMORIAL stadium. Named for Clemson men killed during war - men who also took that oath.
