All four doors, the sunroof, trunk lid and rear glass have been removed and stored on tables or standing safely against a wall. The hood can be shot independently from the main body unless I get super efficient using the HPLV and HTE spray guns.

I figured 3 months to paint, cut and buff, reassemble the body and trim and this is why: Rust at the rear windscreen.

The next photo should be labeled Lower Left Corner.

I just Por 15ed this a few years back and followed the directions to the tee including removing all loose rust proper sanding, cleaning with degreaser, soap and water and wiping with 91% alcohol. Por 15 is a joke, it's a bandaid on a broken leg.

Chemicals may slow it down and help but nothing cures rust like mac cutoff tool, a 3/16" thick, 3" cutting disc and a ton of pressurized air.

A sheet of 18ga steel, a mig welder with a bottle of gas and .023 wire will fix this.

FYI, it took half a day to remove that rear glass. They ain't making em anymore and all the glass in this automobile has the MB label so rather than trying to save the gasket, which is less than 5 yrs old, I cut it into ribbons and threw the ribbons on the floor. I'll clean up before I start sanding.

Here's how this is going to go. that lower lip isn't a single piece of metal. It's two pieces which are pinched and spot welded. I will clean the exposed sides of both pieces then use a spot weld bit to separate short sections which are rusty, one at a time. I won't cut both pieces together for I'll lose the integrity of the structural component of the shape.

I will take a few photos of the process which will bore the he double ell out of all you pantywaste but a few of those who have their own mancard will find they have curiosity in this project. <img border=">">">

IDK what's wrong with that third photo so here's the link to it:
