Still seeing lots of clown and troll posts about the coaching staff. To me, it's clear that Dabo has a contingency plan for everything, as he should. He's proven to be a masterful GM for well over a decade now.
He quickly executed his plan after we lost Jeff, after we lost Tony, and after we lost Brent. He made quick, timely decisions to move on from Spence and Napier. And he's now quickly executed his plan again after it became evident that a change was necessary.
We seem to forget how well Dabo has run this program for 15 years. Maybe that's because it was run so well, change hasn't been necessary. Now that it became clear that a change is the right thing to do, he's taken action...with a home-run hire.
The timing is now explained...he wasn't going to take a guy away from a chance to win a Natty, and Riley probably wouldn't have left early anyway. Why be an unnecessary distraction? But Dabo sure moved swiftly once the game ended Monday.
