D Walker DL

Jul 22, 2012, 2:08 PM

I believe he can play both inside or outside

end or tackle 6'4" 280 5.0 speed

we take him he could play inside and so could the king RN

adams or pagano would be icing on the cake but are long shots.
I would take them still.

we have to remember watkins and then reid as a true ng

reid,rn,watkins, walker?,Rogers,Daniels,Crawford on DL make me feel
great about the defense.

I would take green too .....do not turn down a 5* signing day surprise.

I would like fuller/hargreaves as my top two recruits left.

I wouldnt exactly call Adams and Pagano long shots

Jul 22, 2012, 2:29 PM

Yeah, if anything I would call Walker a long shot. It seems like he's gonna be florida bound.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have a better chance with Adams then Walker

Jul 22, 2012, 2:28 PM

He's most likely bama bound. Adams did not spend the night at Auburn, he left early. We're still in the hunt and battling the lesser tigers for him

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was only there long enough to pick up his check

True, I honestly feel like we will get him. Hopefully he enjoys water sports...

we need to beat AU badly and that will up the recruiting.

pagano is like the Perry brothers.... just pure natural strength

Head to head game results really doesn't impact recruiting as much (if at all) as a lot on here seem to think.

I am not saying this out of homerism or anything, but Bama feels real confident with the status of Walker. He has visited Bama 3 times in the last 4 months and talks highly of them everytime. He even brought his Dad the last time and his dad had nothing but praise to say about the Tide. (His dad was the one wanting him at Florida)

Here are some quotes from Walker.

Wed Jul 18
“I told my dad that one of the first times I came there that it was unreal and the campus was nice. The second time I went, he said, ‘you know, I’d like to take a visit up there and see how things are.’ It’s one of the top schools that I’m considering and that was one of the things Coach Saban had to have. Every time we talked he would ask, ‘when are we going to get your dad in the stands?’

“Things went great- he and Coach Saban had a real good talk. Things were excellent and I guess when I get back home, me and my dad will talk about it some more.”

Walker notes that he and Saban have formed a close bond over the past several months and feels that Alabama’s head man is more relaxed around him than most.

“Me and Coach Saban like to tease each other a lot. We’ll mess around and crack jokes at each other. A lot of people are shocked to see him smile and play around. I was talking to his secretary and they were saying how he usually doesn’t do that. I know they were saying that, but they swore up and down that everything changes when I come around.”

While at The Opening in early July, the Sunshine State standout noted he was unsure if he would stick to a tentatively planned announcement date of August 3. He now says the announcement is back on and lists four SEC programs as the contenders.

“I’m still going to do it on August 3. My top group is Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee. I’m going to keep them all even. I don’t know for sure (of any other visits). I’m looking for a good program, great academics and campus, and somewhere I can trust the coaches.”

For Walker, it was his third visit to UA in the last four months, but for his father Dale, who arrived in Tuscaloosa on Monday, it was his first time on Alabama’s campus. The elder Walker thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

“It’s an A-plus because of the hospitality,” Dale Walker said. “The hospitality was a five-star. Everything was just outstanding.”

Walker’s father also got a chance to meet with Nick Saban, and afterwards, he believes the Alabama head coach should have higher aspirations.

“He’s a sharp guy," Dale Walker said. "He needs to be President.”

"We are probably just going to go back up to Tennessee in a week," Geis said. "He really likes coach Sal Sunseri a lot. That's a reflection on Alabama because of the success and championships he won while he was down there. That's probably our final visit.

"I am pretty sure he knows where he wants to go. Alabama is a great school. It just doesn't get much better than that. You have a chance to play for two or three national titles, and in a bad year you are probably still going to a BCS bowl. He wants to play for a team that plays for championships, can develop him into an NFL player and has great academics. You combine all of that, and there really is only one program in the country who can provide that."

Demarcus Walker has now visited both Alabama and Florida this summer, and though his decision date is looming, he would like to get in visits to Clemson and Tennessee before deciding. Still, he says he’s ready when the time comes.

Again, I really think he will commit to the Tide.He set a date to decide where was going before he ever visited Clemson. I really don't see the reason behind people thinking he will come to Clemson. I know, you have to start somewhere and getting him on campus is great and all, but I believe this was more of a "go have some fun before I commit" trip more than anything. I guess we will see.

Yeah the mighty Saban thought the samething about RN

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

D. Walker

Jul 23, 2012, 8:10 AM

Really???
This has nothing to do with RN, but if you want to play that game here you go.. The biggest difference I see in the recruiting of RN and Walker is that Walker isnt trying to get scholarships for half his high school team.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Grayson isn't your average high school team

Jul 23, 2012, 8:39 PM

You do realize that Grayson HS is rated #3 in the nation?

Bad comparison.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Both his dad and his high school coach are crazy bout Bama..

Jul 22, 2012, 10:40 PM

and the kid likes it ,too, so I think our chances are a little slim .....although I think the kid really likes Clemson and Dabo ,he and his support group are a little star struck with Bama and Saban..

I was referring to Adams above, but yeah I think us getting Walker is slim as well.

My favorites to fill out this recruiting class that could lead to a National Championship is Adams, Fuller, Hargraeves, Green, Droogsma, Treadwell, Pagano and Kamara. If we only get three of these talented athletes the future looks very bright.

Where's Crowder?

Forget Green and Kamara - we don't need 4 runningbacks.
