Coot A.J Cann (OL) has huge tell. Hope our coaches notice.

Matt Stinchcomb, a former All-American offensive lineman at Georgia and 1999 first-round pick, tried exposing South Carolina standout fifth-year senior guard A.J. Cann during Saturday’s broadcast, claiming his pre-snap routine helps the defense.

During his film study segment, the ESPN analyst spotlighted Cann’s tendency to use his right hand in a three-point stance when he’s blocking to the right and left hand when going in the other direction before the snap.

“They’ve got a great player in A.J. Cann, but he does something strange,” Stinchcomb said. “It’s almost 100 percent of the time unless there’s an audible at the line of scrimmage. It’s an obvious tip for defenses to take a look at.”

Cann, a team captain, started every game but one over the last four seasons and was a preseason All-American selection. He’s considered the Gamecocks’ top offensive lineman this season and is projected as an early-round pick.

It’s rare that an announcer takes such a strong analysis, in this case tipping plays, but Stinchcomb provided a legitimate takeaway.

I saw another one highlighted during the ASU/Stanford game.

Before running plays Barry Sanders stares straight ahead. On passing plays where he blocks his eyes move back and forth.

I wouldn't bite too hard on it now that everyone has noticed

He will be switching it up trying to throw defenses off but it's definitely something to sit back and watch in the early stages of the game. They better do something about it before they come here, grady vic and Corey Crawford won't need any help getting through that "best offensive line in the country" that they have fielded this year.
