The amendment passed, one step closer to government controlling everything of our lives.

minded homophobes here. I don't give a #### if two homosexual people want to get married, I believe they should be able to. Who are you to say they cannot? They love each other just as much as you love your wife, except you're just fine saying that if their loved one is dying in a hospital, they're not allowed to see them because it's family only.

You argue for separation of church and state and yet, this law is a clear projection of Christian beliefs.

May 9, 2012, 4:37 PM [ in reply to Jesus, Allah, Muhammad, Buddha, etc., etc., it's not ]

Jesus did love everyone, but you are wrong if you believe he accepted as approved by God things the Bible calls sin. (i.e. prostitution, extortion (tax collection), adultery, any sex outside of marriage, etc.)

He loved the sinners, of which we all are, but he loved the sinners enough to tell them to continue in sin means God's judgement and hell. Period!

God is a God of love and judgment. Modern people tend to forget that last part.

How did jesus feel about the 1950's when marriage between two men was unheard of, but it was OK to lynch a black man for having relations with a white women?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Jesus, Allah, Muhammad, Buddha, etc., etc., it's not

May 10, 2012, 10:51 AM

Just because it happened doesn't mean Jesus condoned it. God did not make people to be robots that have no choice. People discriminate based on color, Jesus does not. Unbelievers want to harp on things like all of the killing and wars in the Old Testament and how the people of Israel wiped out entire groups of people. Some of this is the wickedness of man and some of this is the Wrath of God for people who refuse to accept and submit to His authority. God punishes sin. Now, if you don't believe, and that is a choice God has allowed you to have, then you won't understand this. Spiritual truth cannot be understood by an unbelieving mind.

Tbalm1, you won't beat God or His son Jesus. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. I pray you come to know the truth.

Re: I just don't understand human nature to hate

May 8, 2012, 9:54 PM [ in reply to I just don't understand human nature to hate ]

Telling someone that what they are doing is OK, when it will lead to their demise is not hate. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, The Lord. All sin, not just homosexuality, leads to death. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no man comes to The Father but by me. The Bible could not be more clear that homosexuality is a sin. Whether or not you choose to believe it does not change it. You may choose not to believe in gravity, but step off a bridge and you will find that your lack of believe did not change the law of gravity.

gay marriage

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It isn't the definition of marriage...

May 8, 2012, 9:49 PM [ in reply to Not even close because there are too many closed ]

I agree that homosexual couple should get the same legal benefits as a straight couple, but to try and call it marriage simply isn't correct. I think that's the main problem with the "gay marriage" movement...Gay people can never get married based on the definition of the word, but they should have the same benefits.

Too much money is made on both sides of the drug war

May 8, 2012, 9:47 PM

to legalize pot anytime soon. Law enforcement makes too much money off of it, as do drug dealers...it makes no sense for the higher ups on either side of the drug war to promote legalization.

However, on the other hand, it appears the American public is pretty much against gay marriage. It's been voted on, and that's that. The process worked. Now, if it were geared more towards legal benefits for gay couples, it might get somewhere...but "gay marriage" will never pass.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So you think that's why they oppose gay marriage, is the semantics of it? Just can't call it "marriage"? Because that would be nuts.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

True. That is one of the classic arguements against

May 8, 2012, 10:02 PM

legalizing it. EVERYONE will try it! I'm sure there would be a brief spike in usage, and then like alcohol, cigs, and everything else, people would figure out they don't like it or can't afford it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They might make more money in the end...

May 8, 2012, 10:00 PM [ in reply to Really don't think they'd make more money on ]

But it would cost a whole hell of a lot of people their jobs. Think of the countless government agencies and law enforcement officials involved in the drug war...If you think they don't get kickbacks from the dealers and cartels, you're crazy. It's one big game, and it happens to be a multi-billion dollar game that many, many "important" people profit from and have a huge investment in it's success.

Yes, I believe that the vast majority of the United States population believe that the definition of marriage is between a man and a women. I think most of those people would also agree to the same legal benefits for a gay couple as a married straight couple, they just don't agree it's marriage.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I still think coke or heroin would provide the

May 8, 2012, 10:04 PM

cash train they're still enjoying.

Then we're arguing the same thing. I don't really care if you call it "marriage" or not.

Marijuana provides a lot of their working capital...

May 8, 2012, 10:06 PM

It helps fund the trafficking of the "big drugs", so legalization of pot would put a hurting on the major cartels operations.

And yes, I think we pretty much agree on the gay marriage thing.
