Than joining SEC.
I have changed my mind about our joining the SEC over the BIG.
Yes, culturally and geographically we fit better in the SEC.
However, our FB team will just be another southern team in a strong southern conference. We won't stand out from the pack. That is not to say we won't be more than competitive, but we won't have a unique thing drawing eyes to watch us.
If we are in the BIG, we will be THE ONLY Southern school in the BIG or if FSU goes BIG, one of only two southern schools. We will be uniquely better off than being lumped in with the sorry ### coots. National viewership will tune in to see that southern powerhouse Clemson play those Yankees and all of the south will be pulling for us and all of the Yankees will be pulling against us. Plus, we will be in a better academically conference. We can continue to whip the coots and they will be unable to continue to make the dumb argument that the SEC is just better.
But, maybe we won't get a BIG offer or maybe we will be their entrance into Sankey's backyard.

Think you meant "SEC" in your first line.
I prefer SEC just b/c I am familiar with league. Clemson fits in perfectly. With expanded playoff, I have no doubt we can be very competitive.
If B1G, I'm ok with that too....just think footprint gets real big.
Would be shocked if its not SEC....

Yes, SEC. Thank you for correcting.
I am on my cell phone and it throws my screen into a different format which is harder on my eyes if I go to correct mode on cell. On computer, it does not do that. I use my cell as much or more than my laptop.

but not a “BIG FISH” in the SEC? The talent at Clemson is there, but having to load up the wagon almost every week for a battle is not an easy task. It would be like having to take on FSU every week of the season and the margins get really tight. Just another thought and perspective on things.

Miss St., etc. It will be a tougher schedule but we won't play FSU, Bama, UGA every week. There will still be weak teams. The SEC gauntlet is something ESecPN created and continues to harp on. USuCk loves to point out how hard it is to win.

Dead on. My daughter will be a freshman at Bama next year. She will have Georgia, Auburn, and a loaded mizzou team at home. The next year she will have Tennessee, Oklahoma, LSU, and Wisconsin at home. That’s like having 4 gameday worthy games a year. And that’s just at home. Totally different animal.

My daughter is going to Bama next year also. Had one graduate from Bama in 2018. Headed down tomorrow for some type of orientation. We live in Spartanburg. Where do you live?
