Clemson "Slow-Mesh"!

If Kyle Richardson isn't going to be able to run his Air Raid system.
Can we at least try some of the Wake - slow-mesh.
Now, Wake runs into trouble when playing a team with superior talent. But, that's likely true of a lot of offensive systems.
But, what if a team could recruit just as good as the toughest teams they will see and run that offense?
Something!
Something other what we have done the last couple years would be GREAT!
The coaches have done a fine job in a lot of areas for the Tigers football program. But, elevating the offense has not been one of them. Creating an unbelievable enviornment for the cultivation of the young man and player - 2nd to none. True caring for and love for - 2nd to none.
I am strictly talking - offensive football and trying some new "SPLIT"! The old "SPLIT" has been imitated and replicated and figured out because of the success of it. It's time to move on and figure something else out. If all we are going to have are jump ball WR's. Fine! Throw them a catchable jump ball - but give them a chance. Don't dirt ball it or air mail it. If all we are going to do is zone read; get a better athlete at QB.
Due to the very same coaches philosophy on how things should be: "We Have Earned A Higher Spot In MODERN CFB Lore"! Time to reinvent ourselves! I realize we only lost two games. But, let's be real about a few of those where we had superior talent. But, the game was uncomfortably close. I get the record; but the offense needs a do-over or makeover or something!
Wish they would just let Kyle Richardson actually run the Air Raid offense though, TBH!

We can’t run any offense with DJ except for maybe what they used with Vinny Testaverde in the early 90s. They have similar athleticism and toughness.
P.S. I always thought Vinny was the biggest Pu$$y to ever play football.

My brother went to Fork Union with him, LOL!
Yeah!
DJU leaves a lot to be desired LemonTiger® My questio for you is: "how much credit/fault/blame do you give Coach Grisham"?
If WR's aren't learning how to run their routes in order to get a bit of separation; is that not on him? Some of the best WR's didn't just rely on "pure speed". But rather, they knew how to manipulate the DB in such a way they got open at around the point the ball should be getting delivered.
I don't see that happening. It's kind of like; run over there fast and "hope for the best" routes. Not really "route running". Something as simple as looking off the safety if you are heading inside(ultimately and you don't want that safety to worry about you - you make it look like you are running a simple 7 route outside). I just don't see it happening.
I wouldn't be shocked lemonTiger to find out there was an ego-clash at the end of the season. Not at all. What we are running this year is not the Air Raid.
Something else. We have too much talent to be so non-explosive on offense.

“Too much talent”. Where? None of the wide receivers match

Previous WR at Clemson. Hoping Randal plays more. Shipley and Mahfa are great backs, but neither seem to have breakaway speed. Oline is better, but not top 10.
We have top 25 talent , not playoff talent.

I think had Adam Randall not gotten hurt our top two WR's would have been freshmen. I don't think Randall fully trust that knee just yet. A full off season and doing things normal for a whole year should get him back right.
Williams and Randall to your point are about the only ones i.m.o who fit the Clemson W.R.U bill.
I believe all OL were at least 4 star recruits coming out of H.S. except for maybe McFadden. Ship and DJU were 5-star players. Perhaps even Ngata. Ngata just had the nagging injury bug.
I think the emphasis on speed has to be made in recruiting. We have shown we can get big outside WR's. But, Renfrow(much, much faster than people give him credit for), Rogers, McCloud, Scott were the underneath dudes who could go get separation off the line quick. If they can catch and have speed/confidence/belief we could use them to mix in with our trees at WR. Don't care if they are an underrated 3-star as long as they can take the top off the defense and get separation off the line. To at least keep the defense honest. Defenses do not have to be honest against us.
I also offer this: we played some teams that "heated up" our 4 and 5 star players we have on defense. It's not all about their star rating. But, how are we using them. We need highly rated players to win it all. But, give me some more speed is what I am saying to mix in with the 4 and 5 star players we have.

Well, hopefully it’s not groundhog day for us next year. 2021 was frustrating because we did not have another QB option. 2022 was going to be different, it wasn’t and still no QB option (coaches opinion or promises made). In 2023, hopefully Cade is in. However, should DJ return I have no doubt he’d be deemed the starter. Cade would probably transfer, and we’d have the gift that keeps on giving. Back to the future.

running the slow mesh would work..both are threats to run..so defenses would have to take pause on rather to attack or get burned by a pass.

You are kidding right? Thought the whole point of the slow mesh was to analyze the defense. Wait until the defense commits to their assignments. Then based on what the defense does, the offense chooses the best play given what is there. We can not run a simple RPO with DJ nor can he work through progressions. This concept is a disaster waiting to happen in the back field. DJ already scares me throwing a designed pitch to Shipley..... like really scared it goes for six for the other team scared.
