given up 10 second half points the other night? Basically just 10 points from the end of the 1st qtr through the end of the game after the first qtr State explosion. Well they did.

After NC State scored the 24 during the first qtr disaster, our defense gave up no more points in the first half and just 10 in the second half. State scored a total of 24 in the second half, but 14 of those were due to the kick return and interception return to the 6.

The defense gave up the other 10 points and NC State was going four downs the whole way on the drives in which they got those 10 points. So the D gave up 10 after the first qtr explosion. I am encouraged by that.

still gave up almost 600 yards. We've go to be better than that this week.

All true, but a lot of those yards came 1st qttr. I think

they did a good job of settling down after that. But you are right, we will have to do better, no doubt.

I'd feel better if we'd make some attempt to cover someone deep before we give up two or three long td's. I also like the philosophy of "we can be bothered to look for crossing routes".

They definitely made some plays to help us go on the 42 point run. I think we lost some focus after going up 55-24. That is disappointing but really only affected the final score. But would like to have seen better results to finish out the game.

As for the breakdowns and the 24 point State run in the 1st half, I hope we got that out of our system and learned from it as that will lose the game this week.

When I rewatched the game I noticed the defense was playing great. Special teams killed us the second half.

This needs to be addressed or Ace Chicken Colonel Sanders will fry us!

Our defense could be a lot better if we played our best players. We have five seniors on that defense, four starters, and one junior that is killing us. We should be a lot better next year. If there is a such thing as subtraction by addition this will be the case for this team.

to a team that scored 7 points against UVA. If that same defense shows up Saturday it is going to be a long night for the Tigers.
