This is on Fan Nation. Even after we thumped them twice last year.



In addition to the usual suspects in Alabama, LSU, USC, Oregon and Oklahoma, favorable schedules give dark horses some hope, including Virginia Tech. Quarterback Logan Thomas could be in store for a huge year because he will have a deep receiving corps to utilize, and the Hokies always have a running back to step up when a star moves on. Defensive coordinator Bud Foster will return his entire front seven, and the Hokies' toughest non-conference games are against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. ... Going to Death Valley will be its toughest test of the year. Still, their schedule is the reason why the Hokies could find themselves in another BCS bowl game at the end of the year, and it could very well be the BCS national championship game.

that they had no idea who was going to replace Wilson and didn't have depth at WR, certaintly enough to replace their 2 stars who just left.

They also had to replace most of their O-line. I live near Blacksburg and their main RB opted to go to Fork union Prep school and their offense couldn't move against their defense in scrimmages. Spring game got cancelled which may have been a blessing.
