Back in that day we win games with offense not defense.

This is one of the best things to happen to our offense since he left. He won disguising not so great talent especially poor O lines.

Well, I agree it was Chads O that got us going and attracted national attention. But Clemson has been know for great D . so we have always had that.

He certainly played a big role and should be an asset this coming year.

Agree. He can at least identify a good QB.

Wondering why he didn't have the same success post-Clemson. Maybe Dabo had something to do with his success?

Not saying his contributions were immaterial, but Venables deserves much more credit than Morris.

Unless somehow the facts changed and Morris recruited CJ Spiller, he most certainly should be given any credit for what came down the road.

You clearly meant to say "not". If you were a donor you could edit your post and fix it.

I am an old tiger and I hate this move. Morris was good for the time he showed up but I have never seen an assistant so thirsty for self promotion. He bombed at other places for the same reason we failed in big games under Morris. Maybe he has "matured" but his video game approach let us beat up bad opponents and led to us getting trashed by good opponents. I hope he plays a role in recruiting, play design and self scouting and no role in game management.

I agree!
He laid the foundation for what would become known as: "The Clemson offense"!
But, the nuts and bolts of it were laid by Chad Morris!
And, Elliott, Scott and Dabo have always basically given him credit to their credit for it.
Too bad so many people can't give him the credit he is due!

Garrett Riley is the new Top Deputy

Will be interesting to see how Morris meshes with the Offense as Riley institutes his system. Will also be interesting to see how much Riley wants Morris' input, and if Riley stays long enough to bring in any of his own coaches. Expect Dabo has a handle on this, and Morris' arrival won't hasten Riley's exit.
