Can't imagine how these firefighters made it.

Basically rode out a fire in a fireproof sleeping bag.

There have been similar cases where the firefighters were not so lucky. I'm on mobile now so can't find a link, but I recall a case study on this where the spotter (man responsible for watching progress of a wildfire) didn't do his job and those on duty tried, to no avail and when it was too late, to shield themselves from the blaze using the same devices. They got overwhelmed by the fire and were pretty much cooked via convection.

Will find more info when I'm back at my desk, but glad these dudes made it.

The green bags in the photo are for training purposes. The real shelters are very fragile; just a little more durable than a space blanket. They can not stand up to direct flames but do reflect radiant heat. Crews are trained to deploy close together so that members can communicate and encourage each other. Each crew member also gets a little benefit from the heat blocking effects of his neighbor's shelter. If a shelter like this is deployed, the occupant is likely to experience intense heat and possible skin burns. If the pain becomes too much and the occupant comes off the ground, severe burns of the lungs can lead to death. Intense fires are usually accompanied by strong winds that can make holding the shelter to the ground difficult to impossible. I'm thankful I never had to deploy my shelter.
