Two interesting wildcards - GT and Miami

The same SEC insiders that claim that it is more interested in UNC and UVA than Clemson and FSU also claim it has no interest at all in GT and Miami.

So where does that leave them? Maybe those are the two schools the B1G moves on, knowing the SEC will take the other four. GT and Miami are more of a cultural fit for B1G anyway.

I just realized recently that Miami was a small school.

they would put conference into new geographical areas (as you know)..

while Clemson & FSU are in states well covered.

Miami is just odd period. I just don't see them fitting in the SEC or B1G. Playing in a pro stadium and no on campus stadium just doesn't fit the culture of either conference.

GT does not put eyeballs on TVs- Miami can

But GT is AAU which would please B1G presidents...

and give them a market in the talent rich ATL area which will please B1G ADs.

It’s not because FSU and Clemson aren’t in the mix, it’s because they are scared of the competitiveness those two schools will bring. Those insiders want an easy path to the championship and not more competition to stand in their way.

Ga Tech fits more with the SEC but having been a member until about 1963, they most likely won’t be invited back. They were probably the kingpin of that conference at the time. Had a very impressive record and bowl history.
