US Ryder Cup selection was a friends-and-family thing,

Really needed some older guys like Bradley and Lucas. Instead it was treated like a scramble vice a match. ZJ picked friends instead of skills.

At the very least, there were some "questionable" team selections. I agree, Bradley and Glover were playing very well and should have been picked......I also think not selecting Cameron Young was a huge mistake.

Screw Calford.

I really don't think Brooks should have been on the team for all kinds of reasons. He brings a lot of baggage and does not add anything in the team room. Just a polarizing figure who is all about himself. I put he and Patrick Reed in the same category. And while I do like JT, his game just isn't there this year and he should not have been selected over guys that were playing much better.

Brooks was one of few who on US team who played well today

Tied in his one match when Rahm eagled twice in last 3 holes. Koepka pitched close on 18 for birdie before Rahm eagle. From same spot, Wyndham missed the green on 18.

Koepka and Thomas were two of the best players...

.... for USA today.

They may prove me wrong… and I hope they do!

Glover should not have been picked. You can

make an argument for Bradley or Young.

Really, the only questionable pick was JT and he was probably our best player today. The Euros made all the putts but tomorrow is another day.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I disagree.

Sep 29, 2023, 5:35 PM

Everybody he picked was in the top 15 of the Ryder Cup points list.

It always comes down to this: Which team makes the most putts. It's a putting contest. The courses are set up easier than major tournaments. The difficulty is closer to The Greenbriar Open than to the Masters.

Europe just went crazy making putts today. I watched the afternoon matches and Europe just drained more 20+ footers than USA. (And, John Rahm chipped in twice in the final three holes for eagles.)

Justin Thomas was the guy that people were complaining about being on the team. He carried Jordan Speith all day. Spieth was basically in his pocket the last 4 holes, not even recording a score.

YES. Zach Johnson has made an absolute fool out of himself and got destroyed today. JT is cooked and cant even make a cut. Spieth, Morikawa, etc are mid now at best.

Lucas Glover, Tony Finau, Kegan Bradley deserved to be on that team. Its despicable really. Seeing JT talk about his friendship and thats how he got on.

I hope the US gets destroyed now. Then Zach Johnson has nowhere to hide from this embarrassment of himself. Golf is a unique sport. You play the hot hand. Not your hot hands from 2017-2020.

I take it you didnt watch today.***
