I would move concrete Charlie up from tier 4. Bednarik played before my time, but his film was violent.

but nobody saw his HOF NFL career coming. Nobody. Obviously he had the talent, but the thing that ultimately made him different was the drive, the intensity, and the determination to be the best. He's in some pretty dang good company there. One of my all-time favorite NFL players ... would be banned today:
