except I'd bold the "nap after" stuff...then bold it again.
oh, and I don't think I've ever gone to cut down a tree...would like to give that a whirl when my son's another 2-3 years older...

We always left in the morning really early and went to Daniel Boone in for breakfast (family style servings that never end).
Then went to cut down the tree at a local farm.
Went to the Tanger outlets up in Blowing Rock
Went back to downtown Boone to go to the Mast General Store to get candy, of course.

SheGUARCELLO's fam had a tradition of hanging out in her parents bedroom for coffee & donuts, and general caloric intake prior the cluster-eff that was opening presents....
it makes a ton of sense when you're not batshitkrzy about opening presents (last year for me too)
however, the 'hanging out in your parent-in-law's room' is...weird....to say the least

And I miss it dearly. My family is such a cluster of attitudes and personalities that it makes me miss the simplicity of those days going to get the tree and quality time with the family. I currently live the furthest away from my parents (1 hour, compared to my sisters 30 minutes), but for some reason it feels like we are states apart because of work and schedules and things like that.

We're considering the live tree this year. Just need to figure out if Deputy ####### (my half-retard dog) will think he's outside or not.
We don't do the Christmas Eve present, tho. And some sort of healthy breakfast needs to be eaten before consuming Christmas cookies....
