Brandon Streeter kinda long

Oct 19, 2022, 11:36 PM

First, I've been taking friends around this week up here in Penn. Lss, I took them to gettysburg today. Lo and behold an older gentlemen saw my Tiger sweatshirt and struck up a conversation. To the fella I met, if you're on tnet, please tmail me. I know you told me, but I forgot your name. Now to the story.

After exchanging Go Tiger intros, he went on to tell me what good friends he is with Brandon and his family. Told me Brandon's brother is still doing security detail for #### Cheney to this day.

Also told me how he's worked with Brandon through the years... Up until 2 years b4 he became offense coordinator. He said he retired. Went on to tell me he first met Brandon when he was in high school, and then at Clemson, said he'd catch the balls while Brandon practice after team practice.

Served as an analyst with him at Richmond and liberty but gettysburg area was home and nearing retirement he would only help him at Clemson off the books for advice. Said the kid had amazing football IQ even in high school. Of course I told him I knew that. He told me just wait to see what he does with Clemson. Also said Brandon's stamp is all over DJ. We chatted about other stuff but anyone that reads this, you get the gist of the conversation... Dang I only wish I'd remembered his name.

Goes to show you never know who and where you meet someone special simply by identifying yourself wearing with pride our Clemson memorabilia. I'm sure they're hundreds on here that's had similar chance encounter with their own unique Clemson story. So, I just wanted to share... I've always been a Streeter supporter, now I'm just a little bit bigger of a fan of Brandon's. Dabo's got a good one. He's light years ahead of most of us. Good night fella TIGERS. I'll catch up with the TU's when I can.

He certainly hasn't shown much as the OC. He worries me.

Streeter knows football and he knows the players as people. Our offense is better than last year. Streeter is the QB whisperer in addition to putting the x’s and o’s on the board. He is much closer to the team than our past OC. DJ is a better passer this year and his willingness to run is obvious with his talk of not sliding. Some of that is him being healthy this year, but some of it is due to Streeter.

He's not just effecting DJ . . it's the entire offense that is a worry with him calling plays.

Uh...try DJ last year vs DJ this year. It might make you feel better about Streeter.

Well, sometimes you have to go with what you have to work with. DJ’s improved immensely and the offense is playing light years above last year. We’re improving as we go, a credit to our coaches and players.

Thanks for sharing and Go Tigers !!!

A friend of mine's father taught at that high school. He taught Brandon while he was there. I had not thought about that for years until I read this story. BTW, I'm not concerned about Brandon as OC. I much prefer his play calling to TE. I think TE's play calling got way too predictable.

Sorry, after reading this I just couldn’t resist. I think Street is doing a great job. Love the flea flicker to start the second half last week. Said all summer I was hoping we would be throwing more to RBs in the flats and we have been doing that a lot. The offense has been a lot more fun to watch this year and a lot less predictable. Dabo knows what he’s got.

Good deal. Thanks for sharing the story.***

When he played against FSU the week after dislocating his hip he had my undying admiration. Then he stopped and helped first responders at an accident scene a while back. He is someone we are lucky to have.

Good story. I am pleased with the way that Brandon

is fitting into this job. He is getting more comfortable, and we are seeing more positive results with every game.

I don't know how to respond to the idiots who keep squealing for us to bring back Chad Morris. He was basically a two year wonder. Opposing defenses were well on their way to solving his high school schemes by the time he left.

I'm definitely a Streeter fan.

And interesting tidbit about #### Cheney. Boy, he turned out to be a real ####.

Enjoyed your post Clemgal ...

My two overriding thoughts on Streeter are 1) he was one tough hombre at QB where he took lots of hits, and 2) Street with Richardson has been a clear upgrade to T.E. at OC. Pulling for him to keep growing his skill sets and wins ...
