Yea, I thought he would at least be better, but he can't be a Nkemdiche!

Granted Clowney had a better freshman year than Bowers, but Bowers went on to be a first team All-American and win the Nagurski and Hendricks trophies, non of which Clowney has achieved yet.

Both better than Clowney?? Really, Clowney was a stud as a true freshman last year. He is a freak of an athlete who ran the anchor leg for his school's 4 x 100 squad at the state meet.
Do your homework and see what analysts say when comparing #1's, RN is not Clowney except in your minds.

You got it, we're trembling. I mean you lost 4 of your last 6, took 3 big time beat downs and now we're scared. As Jon Lovitz would say, yep, that's the ticket. Why in the hell would we be scared?? Take off the glasses and tell me what makes you think you have improved so much since giving up 70 points to WVU, since averaging 2.5 yds per play with your vaunted high powered offense against us, since allowing us to basically move at will against you for 3 years but now you are world beaters??
Come on, you are a good team and it should be a good game but to say that we're scared is just stupid. But hey, tell your friends, explain to your kids that we might have beaten you like a drum for 3 years but we're scared of you. Man that is funny.

I dont have a problem with you defending your own team

I do have a problem with your methods of defense though.
1. How can you say Clowney is better simply because he had a great freshman year when RN hasnt played his freshman year yet?
2. What does Clowney's position on the track have anything to do with football? are you saying that RN is slow?

No, what I am saying is he is a very rare athlete that combines size and speed that very few have.
I think it is alot easier to say Clowney is better when he has proven himself on the college level. How would you think RN is better and all he has done is played on the HS level?? Really easier case to make at this point for Clowney.
You guys were the one's saying RN and Bowers were both better. I just pointed out that analysts said RN while being #1 is not on the same level as Clowney. But that is just analyst, you guys I know don't have bias so you saying RN holds more water.

it's a pointless case to make until RN plays a year in college. Even then, I'm sure there will be the replies of "well, that was in the ACC".
Rare athletes are rare, but that doesn't mean they can't come two years apart

Agree 100% with you. Also, they are not the same style players but both have a chance to be special regardless of rankings.

RN hasnt had the chance to prove himself at the college level. So your argument is flawed. As of right now, you could compare Clowney's junior season to RN's junior season. Or you could wait a year and compare senior seasons.
And I hate to be the one to bare bad news on you, but I think RN is one of those athletes that has size and speed.. According to ESPN RN is 6'5 265. Clowney was 6'6 240. Rivals has Clowneys 40 time at 4.6. Rivals does not have RN's time so i had to research it and bleacherreport has it listed in an article at 4.56. So RN is bigger and faster?

I am not arguiing. What I am saying is Clowney has proven himself on the college level while RN hasn't, doesn't mean he want but at this time Clowney has.
Again, different style players but both can be special.

fair questions but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone outside the clemson fanbase who thinks nkimdiche is better than clowney. thats not downing him. looks like he can be a very good player. he isnt the prospect clowney was though.

when comparing their highschool careers up to their junior season, RN does also have his senior season left to play also.

I am not talking about stats. many things can skew stats. I am talking about people watching them play and commenting on their physical abilities and potential. Every coaching staff in the country including yours would take Clowney. The SEC coaches just named him 1st team All-SEC today.

He's being said to be the best prospect out of UGA

since Hershel Walker. That's very high praise. Not saying that he's better then Clowney but they'd be neck and neck if they came out at the same time. Clowney is faster but RN is bigger and stronger hence him being able to play DT at times. As a prototypical pass rusher Clowney is better. As a more complete athelete in terms of run stopping as well as pass rushing I'd take RN. At least as far as what we can compare from their HS tape

Clowney is never going to be a gap control guy by any means but I think its a myth that he's weak against the run. He held his own very well last year when teams ran right at him. When teams run away from him he is very dangerous coming down the line.
