Says that Renfrow has taken him under his wing since day 1 and shown him the ropes. Chase says he has learned a lot and expects to be a big contributor next yr.

Does anyone have any updates on his current weight? Really excited about this guy out of FL! Have to keep the star FL receiver tradition going

Haven't seen anything about weight but I remember seeing a pic of all the redshirts from the power hour and he definitely put on some muscle.

Good to here. But with what I saw from Powell this year he'll have to fight for reps.
At least Clemson does a good job at getting lot of plays in so we can spread the love.

Nothing against Powell, but he had 12 catches for ~80 yards.....

Not saying he can't be good. But anointing a kid after not doing much yet is weird. TJ Chase has for all intents and purposes been almost equal to him without ever playing a game. Who knows who the next big thing will be.

No I just watched the games and despite him having few catches I noticed several times where Powell made strong catches. WR's with good hands get more reps.

Powell won't be a slot receiver. Chase will battle Renfrow and McCloud for reps.

I know it sounds harsh, but..

I agree. I will even call it a make it or break it to an extent,, as far as him finding a dominant role.. There will just be so much competition.

Powell will most likely be a 5 and crosstrain at 2

Our WRs, especially young ones, almost always crosstrain. The 2 and 5 man spots, where I think Chase will fit in, are both very crowded already and have more talent coming in next year. Add in the new DBs they'll get to practice against and, as scary as it sounds, the best is yet to come with this position group. That level of talent could add a year to Chase's development
