Anyone know of any good seafood places in Springfield

Kentucky? I am taking the family there for the annual Springfield running of the gophers, (highly recommended)
Anyway, if there are any locals that can recommend a good spot, it will be much appreciated.

Yes there is the Road Kill Cafe. My favorite is the Guess This Mess. You name it correctly and you eat free.

Kentucky is known for its seafood. And horses. But they don’t eat those.

in Iceland where it is not frowned upon. It was served medium-rare with horseradish sauce. It was a lot better than the beef I had there, which was as tasty as shoe leather.

I recommend the "Hungry Heifer" located right in downtown. Be sure to try the lubester, a petroleum by-product that tastes amazingly like the real thing. That with a pan fried flank steak should hit the spot for your surf and turf.

Lubester can be eaten year round ..... just don't get too close to an open flame for an hour after eating it.

I had the fried carp sandwhich at Wynona's in Bardstown a few years ago. I think Springfield is close to there. It's good for soaking up bourbon if you're on the trail, which I guess you probably aren't with the family along.

Back in the mid 90s while playing baseball for SWU we were heading through the area on our way to South Bend to play in the NCCA Championship (National Christian College Association) and we stopped in Springfield and thought it would be cute to eat at the Main Street KFC. We heard a local order the “Derby Delight”. It turned out to be a seafood sampler that was unbelievable.

Try Mordecai’s. I prefer the frog leg platter.

I’d bet money Tarly Dactal will be there too. He usually has great advice on fixing all your problems!
