My fiance got fired for asking for time off when I surprised her with tickets. I can't think of a better reason to get fired from a job! Lol

We should start a running list of all offending in state businesses and boycott as Clemson faithful.

Re: fired for going to the game? "Very short-sighted"
Jan 7, 2016, 11:47 AM
|
|
Very short-sighted. The cost of a few days off (creating good work morale) vs Hiring process, company paperwork, training a new person, and the "startup" time needed for the new person, as well as the close out paperwork-admin for firing someone.
Now, if the hypothetical person was a slacker, and this was the last straw, that's a whole different story.
Oh well, Stupid Is As Stupid Does. Some employers can't see the forest for the trees. Some companies are successful, and some companies will ultimately fail. Karma.
I'm sorry your wife had to deal with this, but it should make the trip ultimately more relaxing. Have FUN! Wish I could go! GO TIGERS!!!

She was a good employees with good attendance, we are fine with it, they have been taking advantage of their employees and I don't think they believed she would go. Just an old egotistical doctor.

She worked for the doctor? That explains a lot. Some doctors are more like Slave masters to their nurses. My wife worked as a plybotomist (sp?) at a local hospital. Those doctors would cuss her out and chew her out and threaten to fire her until she (4'11 and full of sass) would cuss them right back out and tell them she does not work for them.

gave my husband prednisone which resulted in diabetes and told him no way was that the problem. i'm probably not expressing this right, but that doctor is a menace and a true sob. husband ended up in hosp due to his "treatment." your wife doesn't need to work for an idiot like that. I know a wonderful derm, but he's in Anderson. Have a great trip!!!

If this is true and she was a direct employee; she might have a case for wrongful termination.
