Anyone else feel that the Panthers being successful

hurts game day attendance, attention, ratings etc for Clemson. I wonder how many people in the stands used to go to CU, SCar, UNC, NCState games or would if those were the only options.
Honestly I always want the Panthers to lose and hope they get sent to another city. Until proven otherwise I just don't see them being good for Clemson.
They aren't close enough to really hurt like how the Oilers and Texans killed Rice but its enough. IMO.

if they are successful again its hurts more. Like in the Rice situation the non-alumni fans and even alumni who are closer just moved right over to the pro team hurting the college team attendance. Etc etc.
Ofcourse Rice stadium is across the street but still. CU fans drive in from a long ways off.

Clemson is a 2+ hr drive from Charlotte...college football fans in many/most cases are not diehard NFL fans. They may watch when waking up from a nap but college fans don't go to NFL games. The folks going to the NFL games wouldn't be driving 240 miles+ roundtrip to Clemson anyway.

I don't think it has ANY impact on Clemson at all

NONE...the Falcons are good this yr do you think that has any impact on 90k people showing up in Athens on Saturday? Nope...and Athens and Atlanta are a lot closer than Charlotte and Clemson. In fact most GA people are driving from ATL to Athens.

diehard for both. Take GA fans for example here in ATL...life STOPS for GA games...they talk about GA games all yr long...they live it...Falcons will get their attn to watch on tv but...
1. Who has the bigger stadium? 2. Who has a bigger fanbase? 3. Who sells way more tickets?
It's not even close.

CU is half that. The smaller the enrollment the greater the competition for general football fans who have no foundational reason for being drawn to one or the other.
And what about Spartanburg. and decent sized city right in the middle. what games do they go to?
I'm not saying that the panthers will ever cause the demise of CU football. but even if there are 2500 fans in seats in Charlotte instead of death valley, thats a big deal in an age where TV is taking over and home attendance for games that arent' huge is dwindling. especially when your conference doesn't bring visitors.

It doesn't matter if the Panthers are winning

There is still really nobody in this region that gives a crap. It's all about college down here. The year the Panthers made the run to the Super Bowl was some of the most p!ss poor attendance I've ever seen for a GOOD football team. Stadium was half empty then.
