It appears now that FSU and Norvell have convinced 5 players to leave Alabama and transfer to FSU. That's a FSU reload in my book.

A lot of posters are weird on this board when it comes to FSU.

They make fun of them for building a team from the portal and say the reason they got killed in the orange bowl is bc they had a team with no loyalty (not true)

Then they say we should be worried about how FSU is using the portal to build a talented team and we need to catch up to the times before we fall further behind

Very confusing because both of these arguments are diametrically opposed yet they are being made by the same people...I don't know the answer but I trust Dabo to figure it out

Last one I saw was a CB that was a 4 star in high school. I don't know how much he played this year, but with the young CBs and safeties we had this year I doubt if he would start and maybe not make the 2 deep unless there was an injury. Saban retired so many of Alabama's players are reevaluating their situation. FSU needs players for their 2 deep.

As Brettfsu said the Clemson and FSU situations are apples and mangoes (I prefer mangoes to oranges). FSU's cupboard was bare so using the portal makes sense. If it continues as a way of life, the turnover every year and opt outs for bowl games will continue to be large.

we need players for our two-deep too. Norvell brought in a team of first-year transfers and beat us, at home. And from what I've seen in that past 10-15 years, Nick Saban didn't recruit a lot of scrubs. He didn't hand out scholarships to many guys who couldn't play. I also noticed that a LOT of Saban's recruits end up playing in the NFL.

I don't think the portal is a quick fix for Clemson, but considering that fact that these are BAMA players who may be looking to move on, we'd be just plain stupid not to look at the list of potential transfers and throw our Tigerpaw cap in the ring for the ones that could help us.
