Am I the only one

Sep 23, 2013, 1:05 AM

That hates this bye week crap? Seems like only half the teams play every week, and although some weeks it may help, I for one think it hurt us going into NC State, considering our first team O had only played a half of ball in 20 days. Just my opinion

I suspect

that going into the NC state game there will be some rust to shake off. Especially on the offensive side of the ball bc they haven't played but one game in its entirety. I still think we will win by double digits, but it won't be as pretty as most clemson fans would want...score prediction 26-14..Go Tigers!

Weird, I have been getting that same feeling. IDK?

Something is also telling me that NCSU will beat themselves by not being able to refrain from illegal motion, due to pent up emotions, in the wait of all the ways they know they COULD beat Clemson. :)

I think Open Weeks help a great deal when you have injuries that need time to heal.

It also helps when you face a team (like Ga Tech) that requires special preparation.

On the whole, though, I think Open Weeks are detrimental to a team. Especially (as pointed out elsewhere) when a team is coming off of a game where the starters played very little.

Open dates are good probably midway in the season but not this early in the season.

Good to get players healthy.

Good to get some of the players rested for the final half of the season

Good to get in some extra coaching and correcting mistakes.

But it is not good if your team is clicking and on a roll. Keep the momentum going. You don't want to take a week off.

Open weeks are ok if they come at the right time. There is no right time for Thursday games. They get the entire system 'out of whack'! Any coach will tell you that they prefer to get in a routine during the season and stay in it. BAN THURSDAY GAMES ....especially on the road!

I slept at a Holiday Inn last night - and I like those bye weeks. I get to sit back and watch a lot of football knowing my team already has the win for this week. :)
