I can tell where there was no magic:

That I have successfully avoided that place my entire life.

Somehow, I always expected the Happiest Place on Earth to be a little more happy, on the times I've been.

I've been twice...

(...I trust this is World not Land.)

The second time I was probably seven or eight. We discovered my acrophobia when we were climbing the steps to the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. I think this must have been the year the park opened.

Because the first visit was interesting and I can still remember the key points. Before the park was completed they had put in the monorail and there was this octagonal building on piers in the middle of the "park." There were windows on every side and underneath the windows there were diagrams of where the park structures and rides were all going to be. It was way better than the actual park.

Yeah. Disneyland has the much smaller Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

many I'm right on:

-Shorts with white tube socks and dark shoes.
-Matching family t-shirts
-Multiple disney "insider" apps on phone
-fanny pack
-battery powered mister fan

Partially right on a couple.

White tube socks (low) and tennis shoes (not black). No matching shirts or clothes. Wife has the Disney app on her phone. Only one. Shoulder bag not fanny pack. No mister fan.

Did you rent a mobility scooter? Gotta say, I was a bit jealous at those I saw that had one.***

20 years ago. She talked him into riding Segways and they had a picture of them on Segways in giant white helmets with the castle in the background. Might be one of the dorkiest pictures ever taken and we still give him
Crap and forward around that pic annually.

I think they staff DW based on crowd expectations - everyone I know that goes at what used to be slow times says it is crowded.

The key is to reserve dinner and lunch times as soon as they open up.
